85 & earlier came with the ma block, which isn't the same as the f series block in the 86-93 trucks.....
don't get me wrong, you can put anything you want in it, but you will have to do more than just a direct swap, i'd say that you could put a f-series engine & tranny in a 85 and earlier, but you would need the whole drivetrain, or engine & tranny, and a custom engine & tranny mounts, & a custom driveshaft, for that matter, you could put a rotary in one, v-6, or v-8 with the right know how, tooling, patients, & money.....

Not positive - but werent the international models in 85 the the same as our 86 "classic"models - not the "old school" models.

I saw pix of a bolt in kit for a 12b (I think it was) it looked preaty easy to do dont know much about those motors though

yeah cause mines the same shape n shit as the later (86+) model. so r u saying it will bolt straight in as its international or whateva?
