^^ that it would, i figured it out the other day on this gear / speed calculator with my 225-50-16 tires, the stock b2200 rear ratio of 3.909:1 and a 5th gear (.758:1) from a 84-84.5 13b rx-7 tranny @ 5 grand, it could run 125 mph, and with a 84.5-85 13b's 5th (.711:1) it could run @ 135 mph.....didn't do one for the 6 speed tho

How the hell did u get those numbers haha. i'd like to see 6 speed r u gonna figure that out? It be cool to see what that works out to

the 6 speed shouldn't make too much difference as it is geared closer, all your doing is distributing the power over an extra gear, they are good for keeping in the engine power band.....

here is the link to the calculator

fill in the blanks, i have a 225/50-16 tire.
the trucks tranny gears are so
manual
1st=3.622:1
2nd=2.186:1
3rd=1.419:1
4th=1:1
5th=0.858:1
auto
1st=2.841:1
2nd=1.541:1
3rd=1:1
o.d (4th)=0.720:1
rear ends
stock rear end is 3.909:1
84-85 rx-7 gsl-se's rear ends are 4.077:1
5th gear #'s
84-85 12a rx-7 gsl 5th gear ratio is 0.807:1
84-84.5 rx-7 13b 5th gear ratio is 0.711:1
84.5-85 rx-7 13b 5th gear ratio is 0.758:1
86-91 n/a rx-7 5th gear ratio is 0.691
the +99 miata 6 speed ratios are
1st=3.76:1
2nd=2.269:1
3rd=1.645:1
4th=1.1257:1
5th=1:1
6th=0.843:1

i'd like the miata 6 speed with our trucks 3rd gear in it and the 86-91 n/a rx's 5th gear swapped for 6th in the miata tranny and run our stock rear end ratio...

Thanks for the link i just pulled my turbo motor out and and am gonna try to bolt it on the 2.2 tranny i have and go from there. Hopefully it will be a positive outcome.

there are several threads on here that pertain to the turbo swaps, and several people who are pretty knowledgable about this. as far as i understand, you'll need the wiring harness from the car that that engine came from, & will have to do some mods on the intake....

what about just a regular motor swap from a different vehical that just bolt right in ready to go with no mods.

as far as a direct bolt in with the least mods for the most power, i'd say the the kia sportage would be the way to go.....@ 140 hp stock, you just have to use the kia's wiring harness....

does this all go for the Mazda b2000' 2.0L aswell? not even sure if u guys have 2.0L over there as im in Aus.
nytrdr24   +1y
it will work for the 86-87 b2000, but not the 85 and earlier models....well you could put any of these in the older ones, but you would need the engine & tranny, and have to do more modifications to get any of them in.

/\ oh realy that sux cause mine is the 85. whats the difference between the 85 n the 86?
