i don't have a fix either, but mine did it for a couple days and i have an extra stock carb, and i threw it on and now its fine! i'd sure like to know what the problem is... seems to be with the carb.

I've been thinking the carb too. Where abouts is the EGR valve located? Going to look around the engine compartment tommorow.

You guys, forgive me for sounding redundant, but I did a little more reading on the issue of carb icing. Come to find out, that ocassionally when you suffer from it, it will cause the engine to stall out just as described. It actually seems to happen more often than people know.

It does'nt happen all the time and people think its some part. Not very often do people look down the carb to see if something is wrong either. So, as they are trying to diagnose the problem, they are overlooking it!

If you don't believe me, buy some windshield de-icer from an auto store and when you encounter this problem again, spray some down the carb and watch and see!

i had the same prob and i changed from the 603 carb (b2000) stock to the 703 carb (90and up b2200) stock and it fixed my prob. its ironic that every one thats had a prob has typically been a 2000. i have no emissions only a fuel line and fuel return from the carb. i welded the rest of the holes up and used a b22 distributor. my truck ran fine for a couple of days then i changed the thermostat and forgot to fill it with water. you can prob figure out what happened

i dont think my carb was icing cuz it was like 80-90 degrees outside when it was doing it. and when i swapped over to the weber i deleted my egr completely and havent had the problem since. but when i deleted it it was nasty as hell so that may be the problem as well.

EGR location?
dropped90(justin)   +1y
it will be on the passenger side of you engine bay just under the carb on the side of your intake. it looks like a canister type thing with a plug for the harness and a vacuum line coming off of it.

Carb icing can still occur in hot weather. Give it a read up and you will learn something new.

It very well could be something else. But its a perfect description of it!

Here is a quick picture of when it will occur...

I have done a Weber swap, pulled the emissions, and blockd my EGR off. It was done in the summer, and never experienced any prolems. But, one day a couple weeks ago I encountered the same thing he describes. Except it died on me twice in less than 4 blocks!

Really, all I can say is if the EGR don't fix it, and it happens again look down your carb, and you will see it all frosty in there..
