Aight guys i knew that there has been hella topics about this, but i have a couple q's that were not answerd.
Ok untill i can bag my truck i want to drop it the good old fashiond way.
I have some 3in blocks in my garage off my girls old yota, so i am going to throw those on and remove a leaf or two.
Q1: Which leafs do i remove? and how low will this get me? also will the stock shocks work for a while?
Now i have to figure out what to do with the front, after reading some posts i think i am going to turn the torsions down, but how much of a drop will this give me? Was also thinking of cuttin of the old bumps and welding on some smaller ones.
Q2: Can i flip the ball joint if i turn the bars down?

So with the things mentioned what kind of inch drop would i be looking at?

A1: when i put 3inch block in i removed all the leafs excapt one, the one that attatches to the frame. i rode with the bumpstops on the frame.. it was bumpy but low as hell, it almost looked like it was bagged. and yah the stock shockes work fine.

when you crank the torsions down you can drop it as much as you want, the torsion bars have a nut and bolt on it and the more you un thread it the lower you go. before i bagged mine i just took the torsions right out and ran the bumpstops on the frame on the front as well.. very bumpy but as i said before low as hell and looked liek it was bagged.

A2: and yes you can flip the ball joints with the torsions tuned down/ taken out. thats how mine was.

overall when both front and back bump stops were riding on the frame (pretty much as low as you can go with out bagging it) my frame was like 3.5" from the ground.. now thats pretty low for a static drop. i rode liek that for liek a year. i preferred looks and style to functionallity and comfort.. but thats just my 2 cents...

I would recomend pulling all of the middle leafs in the back. Leave the top and bottom ones. The bottom one will keep the top from bending back on itself and over stressing it. You can drop the truck pretty low without having to flip the ball joint. I just cranked down on the torsion bars of mine until I got it where it looked good.

I cant wait to drop my truck, i think i am gonna ride on the bumps for a while.
But i hear a lot of people on this board saying that it is unsafe to take out the torrsions. is this true? i dont car so much about ride quility, but shit i dont want to crash (have had a couple serious accidents latley).
slammed: you said you road on the bumps for like a year, so the ride must not have been that bad rite? i know its going to be hella bumpy, but it is barable right?
paul: so is that as low as you can crank the torrsions? or can they go lower.

You can crank lower than I went. I actually cranked them more after my sig picture was taken. You should be able to crank them down onto the bumpstops without having to take them out. I would recommend not pulling out the torsion bars if possable.

i'd pull em down as low as possible....like they said the ride wouldnot be comfy...but it would look real nice...

I am just debating if i should take the torrsions out compleatley, or just drop theme on down to the fullest.
In a couple months i am going to have the money to bag it, but i need to lower it now untill i bag it.

i took them out and rode for a year with them out, never had any problem what so ever. actually more like a year and a half.

yah i didnt find it that bad, just have to watch where your driving and watch out for pot holes and man holes. some ppl cant stand it tho.
