K... wanting to do the same thing, but anyone got a decent source to buy the shocks from (part#, website/phone#, etc.). Saw a nissan with bags in front and air shocks in rear. They were slow but gave pretty decent lift.
you can do all these things but let me tell ya its gonna hurt. When i bought my truck it was static dropped like hell. Mono in the rear with a 3 inch block and cranked to hell torsions. The ride sucks and i would have rather rode stock. Be careful with an axle riding on frame in the rear. Ive been reading about some guys who cracked their frames from this. Also I dont know if you want the stress of all the truck slamming on those front control arms. Now my ass is still mono'd in the rear with a step notch and it still rides like shit but with those 2600s in the rear i dont know how i ever drove a static dropped truck
your clearance will be less than a coke can laying on it's side and the ride is very very rough. you will need to know the roads you drive down because a groove or raised manhole cover will rip out that front crossmember.
that being said yes you can do it. i rode around like that for a few months and two sets of front tires.
hey bro go to your local autozone and ask for the gabriel or the monroe air shocks, if they dont make them for the mazda, get the ones for a nissan pickup...they work fine, i used them on the rear of my ranger
similar year nissan as mine or is there a certain year. seems like most late 80s, early 90s minis used very similar suspension setups. going to the zone to check 'em out tonight.
Removed front torsions...haven't driven it yet but it looks killer on front. gotta drop rear next...lookin at some chevy truck or eskies w/low-pros. i gotta slammit dammit!!
