I took the rear cap of the compressor and had it tapped at the machine shop.
1/4" pipe thread on the discharge, 3/8" pipe thread on the suck side.
I ordered an Viair leader hose and an ASCO water seperator from Ricky at whynotfab.com and hooked them up to the discharge side.
The fittings I got from the local Parker store and used it to hook the in-line oiler i got from sears and the filter from autozone.
I also ordered an ASCO pressure switch from Ricky. You hook it up like any othe 12v compressor.
hope this helps, I don't have it in the truck yet, but i hope I should this week.Email me with any questons you might have.

Those are some very helpful pics. I was just wondering today how I was going to hook up my sanden 708. I was going to run compression fittings on the lines comming from teh compressor but they seem to be an odd size and I was having a hard time some that would fit. My inline oiler is bigger it looks like your filter so I'll have to do mine alittle different. Is there any reason you didn't tap it yourself?

i didn't tap it myself because I didn't want to screw it up. my tap set is really old(like more than 30 years).Plus it was only $20 versus a new sanden 708 at the junk yard for $80 if i screwed up.

hrm, sorry to bring this topic back up.. but..

1 - can it be stickied?
2 - what cars/trucks or what else im missing has a sanden 708 on it
3 - are there mounting holes on the truck already if yours didnt come with a/c to start with?
4 - whats the belt number i need to make this work?

is there a way you can wire the pressure switch without a relay?

i did the same on my truck, dude that bitch builds pressure faster than all other edc. the turbin comp. filled my 6 gal. to 180 in like 10 secs. but like they said you MUST keep this thing oiled!, but it works fine.

hey the 302 came with just about the same comp. as our mazdas. just turbine comp. still have to oil it

i did a little research on the sanden compressors a little while back and they are piston pump compressors, not turbine. if i am not mistaken the first number in the sequence is the number of pistons that particular compressor had. for example, the 708 has 7 pistons. i'm going to do a full write up on the a/c to air ride swap when i start on mine.

mazda and toyota compressors can easily be made into any edc, the pics on here show you how to do it, i dont know why everynoe keeps asking the same questions, we have an edc on my buddies s10 and its awesome, except for not having a/c lol, it fills 0-145psi in about 36 seconds, and 110-145 in about 15 seconds. it lame having to oil it all the time, and drain your watrer traps all the time, but its much better not having the noise/power loss/ slowness of the electric compressors we are all used to. I was going to keep my a/c system but am leaning more toward making it an edc, I although will retain factory a/c switch and wire in the pressure switch through it retaining factory look (if i do it) anyway good info everyone, i have some sandens ill let go cheap, lemme know guys.
