I just came across some info that would be helpful for oiling your compressor...
from the website: i read that the lubricant used with R-12 is mineral oil. Mineral oil will not mix with R-134a, and thus you must use PAG oil. depending on what kind of AC compressor you have (my stock sanden sd708 was R12) there are two different oils you can fill your oilers with

Ya, thats good info if you are gonna run an oiler/oil catcher setup. . .

I am runnin grease though so I don't need PAG. .

A write up on converting an a/c pump to an air compressor? or to run on grease? ?

I could do one on converting it to run on grease instead of oil. . . I have quite a few pics from when I did it. . .

Just drove the truck for the first time today. We used the 508 with greese and have no smell at all. I used power punch greese in a tube it dont smell like greese and is thicker than your normal moly. I drilled both holes on the back cover the intake is a -10 and the pressure side is a -8, i did this so it would pull lots of air to help keep it cool. I also went to tacoma screw and got a oil/water filter. The filter was 1/4 pipe so i drilled and tapped it for 3/8 pipe, the filter is now a high flow filter it has very little resistance. When driving around 2700 rpm it went from 110 to 145 in about 5 sec and at idle 12 sec. I also have a viair in the back just incase but after running the edc the viair seems like tring to fill the tank with a bike pump. I think my tank is a 8 gallon its the long skinny one. The a/c conversion was very easy also when you take the back cover off there is a hole you plug that lets oil go out the pressure side, its the only hole that goes from inside to the back. I also put a greese zerk in the top and use the gun to pump greese in.

i just picked up a sanden 508 for free.. would this work? and these are the things i was gonna get with it from sd.. inline oilers. leader hose. oil water trap. anything else i would need?

Yep, a 508 will work great. . And a leader hose will be a waste of money. . You have to run hard line for quite a ways back on the truck because it gets hot. . . I had a 5' piece on my isuzu. . run to jus under the cab. . And it still melted the airline. . . Scared the CRAP out of me too. . . Its static dropped and I used to drive a bagged s10, so my first reaction was, oh shit. . Im gonna lay out soon. . . Where can I pull in. . . HAHAHA. . But ya. . oiler and oil catcher and a lil air filter. . . And you should be good to go man
