I want to drop my truck, but I don't want it slammed down. I need it as a daily driver,I need to be able to get into my driveway and I don't want to scrape frame or tuck wheels (yet....).

I run on 205/75/14 rubber, and stock rims, and the truck sits pretty high. I want to bring it down enough where it looks pretty low,but where I won't be running into problems driving it every day. Would a 3/4 drop be too extreme for what I want? How about a 2/4? My rear end sits up way higher than my front. If I do a mild drop, should I bother getting Toxic shocks or something,or can I leave my OEMs? I figure it won't be low enough to ruin them in a short amount of time.

Any insight appreciated!

Here would be my suggestion. Crank the front down as far as is appealing to your eye. Drive it around. Then measure the rear to see how far you need to drop it to get it down level or slightly higher with the front.

IF I was just gonna wing it, I'd tell ya to get s et of 3" blocks for the rear and put those in without removing any springs AT ALL. Then just lower the front to match, but you will have to remove the front bump stops and that'll give you a good safe ride, and comfy.

I rode like that for quite a while. Now I'm a lil lower than that and I removed some leafs in the rear so my ride isn't as good now due to the front not having the same clearance it had. An 1" in either direction is a big difference remember that.

Take a look at my link below VV for pics. The very first pic is on the bump stops . I didn't realize it at first lol.

Gonna really depend on your tires size, current hieght, and your own taste really though.

hotdawg, your truck in the pics with the bumpstops sits about as low as I'd want to go with mine. I don't know what it is about your truck, but I love the way it looks.

I just run stock 14" rims with 205/75/14 all season tires, and don't plan on upgrading to larger wheels any time soon. The truck is totally stock suspension and engine wise right now. I want the truck dropped cheaply, because I have a bunch of other stuff to work on,including paint and bodywork this year.

Wow dude thanks for the compliment.

Just so you know:

With bump stops in:

With out stops in front:

And no stops front or rear with only about 1-1.5" of travel and 16" wheels wit 50 series tires:

Honestly I'm about down to that same level again, cept on the 15's again. Not a great ride, but I am working on baggin it hopefully this summer so I'll ride like this till then I suppose. Though I do have some pathfinder wheels I'm puttin on and gonna flip the lower bj's to give me some more travel.
