I'm doing it myself today Should have new BJ'sat Advance tomorrow morning then I can button it back up. Got my new uppers today. Didn't think I'd ever get the first lower out lol.

Only thing you didn't mention, which I thought had to be done, (according to the other thread), was the tapering of the spindle. That was the most time consuming part for me. But I used a Cambell Household lil pyramid shaped grinder bit that helped the most. I'll post a pic of it and all this myself if LowB doesn't get his up.

Here's the lil tool, it's a pink lil grinding stone, I used which can be purshased from Wal-Mart....DON't use Home Depot's itsucks lol.

And here's the pics of the control arms:

Both

I'll post finished pics when I get my new lowers tomorrow.

yeah you dont have to taper the bottom of the spindle you dont have to "FLIP" the lower balljoint as in flipping it so the stem faces up instead of down and i would actually be against doin that because a ball joint is only supposed to have a very limited amout of play and there is no way to grind the taper spindle with enough percision that i would be comfortable telling someone to do that.

Instead i would recommend leaving the stem facing down if you desire more drop you can always make spacers. If you have questions about making spacers or having spacers made BAGGEDB22 can prolly help you on that more then i would be able to

i dont know there may be some pros to doing it that way. but i personally would rather sacrifice a little drop for safety espcially when you put a spacer in and be safer then trying to taper it all a matter of opinion and skill level i guess i personally dont feel i have the skill level to be percise enough to taper a percion fit with a grinding stone

lol you know, honestly, I didn't even think of just flipping it to the top side :p I was thinking of completely flipping it...which is what I saw done in the other thread, hence why I did it. Would have been easier, but it's done now lol. But anyway, I only tapered it "enough" and so there's not going to be any play once tightened down I believe.

Here's the "instructions" I had found in the other thread:

And the pic from that thread:

I didn't do it to be lower, tho I do want more shock travel/control arm to bumpstop bracket clearance. But I didn't even think of the other way lol...(just mounting the bj on the top).

yah i wouldnt be able to do it that way anyways cause i need my 14's to fit but thanks for the pics.

beleive me when i read it i thought the same thing and was like my wont this damn thing do in and i asked BAGGEDB22 and he set me straight
lowblownranger   +1y
when i started flippin mine i tryed FLIPPING the lower and couldnt figure it out and i talked to BaggedB22 and he told me what i was doin wrong and it went a whole lot smoother but i dont think either one is right or wrong just a matter of what you want there might be a few pros to doing it the way you did
