It may have already been posted somewhere but I just was wondering which way everyone goes.I'm pretty sure most will say bags.I want to hear reason's.LIKES AND DISLIKES

I personally would prefer hydro's.But it depends on what kind of car or truck your putting them on.I have a hydraulic setup for my wagon that I never got around to putting on,but I made a coilover setup so if a hose was to blow out or something was to happen I could adjust it up and still get it home instead of leaving all that money on the side of the road.And you can make hydraulics ride just as good as bags with accumaltors,which is just a mini bag in a sphere

But I know hydros take up more space,weigh more and some people say that they are messy,I had hydros before and never had a mess or a problem with them.

But with bags and I know this has been talked about is when a bag blows your pretty much screwed unless you have it where it doesn't lay frame.But where is the fun in that.Then you got rubbing issue's in some case's.And then in some cases you got to wait for the airpressure to build up before you can use them again.

i have never done bags i had hydos on my 86 nissan and i liked them alot except when my seals started leaking.......

I guess no one feels like debating this.I just wanted to see everyone's view on this.Oh well.

I use bags to many legal issues on hydros and what I mean by that is if you break a line with air it is a easy fix and you wimp your way home but if a hydro line breaks it is going to cost first they charge you for having hydro's as they are in some places illegal to have and then they charge you for clean up of that fluid all over the road and you know how city workers are 10 minutes work 1 hour smoke break and then there is the wieght of all the batteries in your ride and if not done perfectly the odd leak all over the inside of the box. Then there's all the extra steel to rienforce your ride as there is alot more stress put on the truck with hydro's but hey this is just my 2 cents. And like I wrote once before I willl not dis some ones ride as what I like you may not and vise versa but I will get on someones back if they're ride is unsafe.

i hate to jump in on your post but i would also like to hear more people chime in on this, also what is the cost differance and performace differance, again hate to butt in but i was wondering about this myself.

To me hyraulics are for heavy machinery. That's the only place I've worked with them tho. Air bags are everywhere on tractor trailers, RVs, etc. I have seen some really nice rides built with both and some really trashy rides built with both. Both can do the same job, but hydros can have much higher lift but need accumulators in order to have any give. An air bag can more easily (to me at least) give you a very nice ride and full adjustability. Ride like a cadalac or a 4-wheeled pogo stick. lol

hydro's are faster and you do get alot more running time but cost wise I believe in the long run air is cheaper as you don't spend monies on extra batteries extra steel to reinforce every part of the frame. But that is just my 2 cents it is all to what you desire or like. Air will give you a nicer ride but hydro's cad to if you are willing to spend the extra bucks.

you can have a leaky air line all day long and its just sort of a pain in the ass its not messy.

you dont need 1359136913lbs of batteries.

you dont have to worry about said batteries losing power. yeah, i know about streetchargers, but most people are too cheap for all that.

how many times has an air system caught fire.

imo, hydros are old school technology that has been replaced.

Well, I guess I am gonna have to chime in on this one. In the garage I have 2 Mazdas - 1 on air and 1 on hydro's. I can say with great experience that hydro's are definately a lot more fun. As for the ride - with shocks its pretty good IF you take the necessary steps to prevent metal to metal friction (squeeks). If you run without shocks the rides is the same bags/hydros - UNSAFE!. As for the zillion batteries, I am currently running 2 batteries or 24 volts. It's not super fast, but I can play for a few hours without a recharge. As for the frame reinforcing - many of the air rides on this site have more than I do - and my truck can do a standing 3 wheel for hours, no problem and no frame reinforcement other than around the rear bumper.

On the flip side, I spent less time setting up and perfecting the air ride. At this point in time, I would jump in the air ride truck and go for a cruze w/o question! But If I was out to impress - hydro's rule.

Now, before I get a bunch of comments, all the above is said assuming electic air compressors. Nitrogen might just send me back the other direction

standing 3wheels are neat, but im not mexican.

f electrics. theyre only good for backups...edc or go home
