^^^^i agree^^^^ the rims look really good but those tires are killin the look. you need some 30's on those rims then it would look sick. and it would also allow for some more clearance on the front where you are hitting. maybe not complete clearance but more to work with.

my mazda when it was my daily, bagged on 18" mazzi wheels...

i have a shorter rearend out of a courier and 4x4 fenders up front which the wheel still hit a lil when it aired up...since the pic i have pulled the suspension in 2 inches to match the rear..

the better route, IMO, is to go 5-lug toyota or s10, the wheel option is much nicer and a hair bit less work....good luck with it man

Good god man! Why are you lowering a truck on 4wd tires. Them thangs look like mud grips off a tahoe or z71. I would slap 225/35/20 on them wheels and re evaluate your project.

A 255 45 20 is 29.03 tall and a 225 35 20 is 26.2. need I say more.

Ya im not trying to seem if im bashing you or joining in on this band wagon but the guys are right those balloon tires gotta go, and im not a huge fan of the caking on the red paint for the front suspension. If I was you honestly I would have did a lug swap.

thanks fer all the replies, both positive and constructively critical,
At the tire shop , they figured the difference was gonna be 1" total outside diameter between the 45s and 35s
It is also a matter of what was available to me, dont forget, I live in the arctic.
this is pothole city also, around here all who have done a 30 tire like that have destroyed thier rims,
The roads are improving all the time and I am careful, also its only summer driven.

30s are the look I want, but the roads up here are terrible,

So as it sits, my outside diameter is 27 3/4"
If I go to a 35 I will be 1" smaller diameter, so a half of an inch difference around is what we are debating? Thats not a lot more clearance.
Last week I was at the tire shop talkin it over with them and I was gonna order 35s instead but after realising I was only gonna gain an inch, I didnt think it was worth it.

But maybe if only for looks, I should go get some smaller rubber.

So please, everyone give me your opinions, I wanna get it right , I got waaay too much work into this to not have it right.

My tire store is having a hard time getting me lower profiles, does anyone have any affordable suggestions for tires? I only have tomorrow to order them, (day off)

understood about crappy roads, but if its not a daily, go lower pro, itll look a ton better, search the internet for tires they will ship anywhere so your location isnt a problem.

I just finished shopping around online and I found some options, and some more info.

Okay, mazda original tires were,
MAZDA TRUCKS, B2200 Standard Original Equipment Fitment : 205/75R14

with,
Overall Diameter: 26.1"

what I have now,
Tire Size: 255/45R20 Overall Diameter: 29.1
(although I measure them at 28")

what I should get, I think.
Description: Proxes 4 Section Width: 10.2"
Tire Size: 255/35ZR20 Overall Diameter: 27"

So, according to these numbers I would get 2"s of less diameter, that would be more worth changing them for.

IF its accurate.

I think I will order them tomorrow, my local stores' web site says they carry this size.

Any final opinions on going 35 or 30??
