An 8" wide wheel with 5.125" of backspacing actually has more like 16mm of offset.

This will not tuck. you will need more like 46mm offset or 6.25 BS or even more since they are such big wheels.

8 / 4 = 4
5.125" - 4.000" = 1.125"
1" = 25 mm so i am assuming they are close to +30 offset. i'm actually less than 1/4" from tucking on the front. i need to grind down the nipples on the front hubs for the rim to seat without having to use a 1/4" spacer to make it flush.

i actually went to and it came to be:
1.125"=28.575mm
so if i round it up i have a +29mm offset....as i said before........close to 30mm offset

an 8 wide wheel is actually 9" wide in reality, lip to lip, so:

5.125" - 4.5" = 0.625"
0.625 x 25.4 = 15.875mm = 16mm

the trouble you will run into will be in the rear where you do not get any camber.

elbine69, thanks for posting up my thread.

if you need any help you can ask me. im laying frame on a 285/35/22 with is a 22/9.5 wheel. with a 13 mm offset. anything under a 30 inch tall tire will lay with stock hood on it when layd out. trust me i have it done in my shop. a 275/25/24 is like 29.75 inchs tall. my 24's are 24x10's.

you have to have the chamber though so it goes into the raised part of the hood.

brakes, get them from the phattys brake kits.

but trust me, a 35 series tire will still let you lay out on your 22's.

z your frame for sure and narrow it the same time if you have to. its really easy. and actually theres a tech wright up in the new minitrucken about z'ing and narrowing the front. its on a mitsu but you can still get the basics.

the rear i narrowed a ton on mine becuse the wheel will go above where the bed angles in. i guess you could say the upper most body line. my 285/35/22's where like maybe 1/4 inch from the bed rail when layed out.

theres is a ton i mean a TON of work to the firewall, and frame. but 22's and bigger on mazdas look awsome. and seth, (twisted minis) can help you on any physic or geometry questions you have.

i ended up calling the shop and haveing them remove the tires and send them over to my friends shop with a waterjet to rebore my center hub ring on the wheels. he took my wheels back over to the shop around 4 this afternoon. so i will have my wheels(with thires mounted) tomorrow after i get off work i'm going up there until i get them......lol

ok... so how about i got the wheels back to the tire shop yesterday after having the center hubs bored. i got over there today around 12:30 and i just got home at 7:15 and they got 3/4 tires mounted/balanced. the shop manager offered the two techs 100 cash (50.00 / ea) if they could get all 4 tires mounted and balanced... the 4th tires seriously kicked their asses......lol so monday either i get my 4th rim mounted and balanced or i get an upgrade on tires because obviously something is wrong with this set......lol i kinda like the upgraded tires but they are a 200.00 difference in price... so i might just have to pay the 200.00 cash to get the upgrades......i'll post pics of the 3 wheels/tires i have mounted tomorrow when i put them on the truck.
i'm tired and thirsty and hungry.... im out.
