Im starting on the planning of the baggin of the truck, and I have a couple of questions. Its a 91 B2600i, excab 2WD. Im planning on this being a daily, so its got to be a simple system, i.e. no extravigant cantilevers, IRS, etc. I have a set of 17" GMC wheels, but will probably set it up for 18s just to have the room and ability to size up if I get the itch.

For the rear, I am going to run either a triangulated 4 link or a wishbone upper setup, off to the drivers side. Bag on bar. My question about the rear is the gas tank. From what I can see, the tank is on the pass side (reason for the possibility of wishbone on drivers side). Are yall moving these to the rear, using a different tank, maybe a reg cab tank, or just moving it up as far as possible?

The front, the usual setup. I am going to triangulate the lower, try to get rid of the bind from the strut bar. For these to lay completely, does the frame need to be Z'ed?

As for air management, just looking at something like a Viair 450, 5-6 gallon tank, 4 gauges (tank, rear, LF and RF, fronts will be plumbed seperately). Are the 4 gauges going to be overkill, as in the valves being wired together and plumbed seperately, will just one, say on the LF, be accurate enough for both sides?

Is there anything you see that needs to be changed? Any issues, comments, concerns, etc? I am a fan of overkill, so somewhere I can beef up my setup is a plus. I am plotting on slams for the bags, probably the re7 (those are the 2600s, correct?)

No parts have been ordered yet, so now is the best time to make any changes needed. Thanks for the insight!

I would run a fuel cell in the rear or put the stock tank in the bed, run all of your 4 link bars forward inside the frame with the bags on the lower bars. As for the air management individual corner control is the best way to go and on the gauges, run 2 dual needle covers all 4 corners and 1 single needle for the tank. Yes re7 bags are 2600 lb bags. I also carry all the major brands components on the market and can take care of all your air ride needs.

Definitely run the bars forward, I am not a fan of the rear facing link system.

Being a driver, and I use the bed some, I was hoping to keep the bed rather clear (maybe a small in-the-bed toolbox to house the air management, extra parts and tools, and all my other crap). I sometimes need to tote stuff around for work, and other parts for my other projects. I have already considered bodydropping the bed to cover the notch as best as possible (Try for 3 inches, still undecided if I am going to bodydrop down the line). I am also trying to do this a budget minded as possible (with the knowledge that good parts cost more, using good parts and budget everything on good quality parts).

You could run a standard cab tank and relocate it to the rear. That's what I did on my 88 and built a cage to protect it. A fuel cell would be ideal. The bottom pic is of the 92 I did.

any more pics of the 92? what mods did you have to do to the frame? I see no notches.

I backhalved the frame on the 92.I cut it off behind the second bed mount and built new rails.

you can raise the tank and get some clearance from it. mines raised in the stock location and its all good. take the front tank tab and put it on top of the bracket and build a new bracket for the rear of the tank. i did an upper wishbone off to one side and bag behind the axle to keep all under the floor. also that left me room to mount compressors and tank at the rear of the truck.

Do you have a picture of your rear setup, just to get some ideas from? That would be awesome! Thanks
