how to red out tails?

ah cool. If I've got some time this week I'll hit up Wal Mart and see if I can find the paint.

well I went to Wal Mart and they didn't have anything remotely close. Infact,their paint selection was pretty slim. You could choose from blue or paint thinner. LOL

Try your local autoparts store. The stuff I used is Dupli-Color "Metalcast" - anodized surface color system. Try this...

Immortal,I picked up a can of that red Metalcast stuff and some clear coat this morning,so after I get home from work tonight,I'll start working on them and hopefully have them ready for before I go to work tomorrow.

Good luck - like I said earlier, I put 2 coats on the amber portion first, then coated the amber & red with atleast 1-2 more coats. Keep in mind with candy paint, the more coats you put on, the darker it gets (also, the less light it will transfer through). And the best part of it all, if it looks like $#!^ - sand it off and start over

Oh and you are best to scuff the tails with 1000 grit first, and use a good cleaner to get any wax or contaminants off.

Well guys,it's like 1:15amand I got home from work at 12:30. I took my tails off and cleaned them up and sprayed them and holy crap do they ever look beautiful.

I cleaned them up with some degreaser and,taped off the edges and the reverse lights and just went in light coats over the red and the amber until they both looked even,concentrating more on the amber to get it red obviously,then blended them. I let them dry and then clear coated them and they'll be ready to install in the morning after a 1000-1500 grit wetsand. Pics will follow after installation.

I also installed my clear corners today. Absolutely sick. Love em.
