nope im kinda afraid of the whole power door handle thing cause ive had too manny batteries die on me i dont wanna be stuck lol!! all i know is that you mount them in the lower front part of the door and use a hanger or some wire to connect it to the latch

in my 84 model there is a rod that goes down from the key hole an attaches to the bottom of the lock mechanism, pop it off the lock then there is a rod running up to your door handle, take the door handle off but leave that rod that was attached to it in, these to rods are side by side. Take your to rods an tack weld them together

im doing this as we speak it takes about 10 minutes but i can get my camera to take a good enough pic

he meant using the lock cylinder that you put your key in to unlock it but switching the rods so it pops the latch.

ill take a look to see if i have any pics of when i did it to my old truck tonite but im not sure if i do.

I've never done manual shaved doors, but I do know some people that use window modules to roll there window down so they can open there door from the inside. I have never had problems with my civic's doors opening, I did have problems with my old mazda. This was because I didnt use the proper method. My civic is set up much better and this is how I will do my current mazda. My battery has had not enough volts to start the car, but my door still opened. You battery would have to be down to 8volts or less for the solenoid to not work. I've had 9 volts pop my latch.

It should not be too hard to figure out how to route the rod from the key tumbler to the door handle. The lock unit pushes and pulls the rod up and down, and the exterior door handle does the same thing. If you are worried about cutting up the rod, go to the wrecking yard and pic up a spare for a testing purpose. Or take a picture of your door without the panel and everyone on here can take a look and give you some pointers. My truck is not at my house right now so I can't take a picture of the door rods.
