Lol, my amp looks a lot like that, its just all satin black with some brushed aluminum. And it says Blackmaxx BMX2250 on it. Good to know Crunch is a good brand though. I think I'll keep this one. Now I just need to price out two 8s, and get a box built. Or maybe try it myself.. Never worked with wood really.
capacitor, acts as a surge protector for your charging system, i had those 2 crunch amps and a sony 600watt amp for my doors, i hate sony but the amp was free, so 4 10"s and 2,600 watts kinda need a protector
wood is easy to work with especially the simplicity of a behind the seat box for 2 eights, that box in my truck was 1 1/2" thick all the around and went to the floor.. took me a week of like an hour a day...
This package is like $60 more than I can get 2 8s for. Worth it or just run with my amp? Kind of sounds like about the same thing I have already.
Do I need an amp wiring kit? I really have no idea how to do this, and I know I'm gonna have to do it on my own since no one in the club likes helping out. Other than the guy that came to your place with me.
Also how do you hook it up to the head unit? Does the amp need to be grounded? Geez I feel like an idiot right now. Lol.
My 10s are 4.5" and they don't fit behind the seat without a box. The Earthquake 8" is 2.13" deep. Just a few thousandths over 2 1/8".
Yes an amp kit is necessary, everyone needs help sometime. Its really quite simple, RED is a fused positive off the battery to the B+/12v on the amp... the deck has a blue "remote" wire which will tell the amp when to turn on or off.. that goes in the middle of the Positive and negative on the amp. Then ground the amp to the chassis! that simple, lol i would say come up here and ill help but its a long drive haha
typically the amp kit will have a pre cut peice for where the fuse goes, the fuse cant be any longer than 12" away from the battery... it can be but trust me you dont want it to be!!, reason is if the wire catches fire only a foot of wire is bunrned instead of your whole truck
