Manny, engine is taller than the hood. Let me know what you want to do.

I stuck a level on top of the air cleaner, leveled it out and measured.

The tallest piece of the air cleaner (towards the center) is 1.5" above the fender, and the lowest part is 1.25" above. I measured the hood. The center raises up 1/2", leaving 1/2" sticking out above the hood at the highest point of the air cleaner, and 1/4" at the lowest part. I discussed with you the cost of lowered motor mounts, so its up to you. That will push the deadline back past this weekend.

would a weber carb take care of that? as far as clearance wise for the cleaner itself.

what about not running an air cleaner for the time being?

Webers are more expensive than dropping the motor is. Also, not smog legal, and takes more time to install. Not cost effective really. Also, a guy in our club had a bodydropped Mazda with a Weber (hated it, never ran right and wouldn't smog) and it stuck otu of the hood a little more than an inch.

plus all you smog stuff is there, cant just take it off lol

smog, lol. tats teh suxor. body can you get an inch by bodydropping the air cleaner?

I looked at it. I doubt theres an inch to remove, it is only about 1.5" tall. It looks Like I'm dropping the motor.
