thanks for the crossmember idea i didn't think of that and it's a deffinalty gonna happen tomorrow if i have some material/tubing for it.

i take pictures everyday at school so i'm not gonna be lazy and i'll keep you guys updated. i have 2 weeks to finish both suicide doors and finish the tailgate and get it primed so a lot is gonna be happening.

also on one of the how-to's i read they used some filler by the hinges to smooth everything out over the welds on the cab part and door, i know not to use a lot but wouldn't even using minimal amounts lead to cracking?

Keep those pics coming!

if you use the filler just make sure and weld completely and then a little filler over top to smooth it out shouldnt hurt. if you weld fully and use minimal filler no more than 3/16" of an inch it shouldnt crack. but if the door and hinges sag then the filler will crack.

real nice work on the suicide doors bro you have done a excellent job so far and you have the right idea space the hinges as far apart as possible and brace it as much as possible and remember to have a stopper in there so the door doesn't bash the cab. Friend of mine forgot about it and first time some one opened it slammed back and dented the hell out of the side. For the door plate all the large holes in make the door as solid as possible.

i'm sure youve thought of it already but i have to just mention to watch your hinge pocket to window clearance. on mazdas it can be real close. sucks to do all the work and not beable to roll down the windows
meesh   +1y
yeah my windows are still going to work but it was really clost to hitting just about flush with the window track. something to consider if your doing it yourself.

now i just have to do a little aligning of the door cause it hits the side of the cab when it opens so i'll do that tomorrow and finish welding everything up.
can't wait

also in the last picture I cut out where the lock used to go cause i'm gonna shave that since i won't need it anymore.

no new updates today cause i ended up cutting the hinge pockets out cause they weren't aligned properly and when i opened the door it would hit the cab and now i have a minor dent to fix.

so i'm basically starting over and have some huge gaps to weld up this sucks. i know the passenger side will be perfect though i'd recomend doing that side first cause it's obviously not used as much.
