one idea i thought of how to do the wireing is to take a die grinder and cut out a slit in the bottom of the bottom hinge for the 1 wire to set into held in place, that way it's not visible and will be out of the way, not sure how easy it will be to do it but it's an option i just thought of.

made a quick sketch to explain and idea to run the wire though, and that would be the underside so it's not visible:

Don't have a pic of it, but have seen on several HotRods a setup consisting of spring loaded contacts. Have seen 2 thru 4 contacts depending on your needs. Door has flat insulated surface, hinge area of cab has the spring loaded base. Close the door and you have a connection, open the door - no connection, but no wires.

p.s. if you had access to some milling equipment, your idea would be pretty sic. Only issue might be bunching up of wire within the cab at the hinge point. But I think it could be done.

And you should go with the hot rod contact pads instead of running any wires through. Immortal1 posted the exact ones I was thinking would be perfect as well.
