The issue is the bar size. The FBI 4 links use 1" bars. Most say a 1.5" bar should at least be used. The bag on bar gives you a better ride and better lift thats why some say its better. Its all personal preference like v8mazda said.

Sweet, elbine! I figured that if I did it with the shorter bars, triangulating the uppers to the same length as the lowers would make it so the pinion does'nt change. I may be wrong on that but I figured thats how it would work in theory.

I would think that if you installed the bars and they were different lengths it would cause a pinion change. Thats I will be doing the lowers instead cause you cant make the shorter ones longer, lol..

I suppose though, if they do bend, you guys can say, "I told you!"

I just 'am no expert at this and all and there are reputable people on here who I'm sure will have no problem voicing their opinion. Although, I respect it, they are just concerned with safety.

Bag on bars is what I've seen only controversial because of the size bars you use. Technically, I should be scolded for using the bars that have for a leverage setup!

V8! Boyo' buddy, get ready for some PM's from me soon! I will probably need to ask you some things for clarification! Thanks for the comment!

I hope these link end won't seize! Good thing about them is that it has carbon fiber lining in it! We'll see what happens, in due time!

Kirk, all you gotta do is just study! You can bag your truck, just ask questions!

It took me a course of about a year for accumulating my parts! I could have bought it all at once, but I opted to do it this way so I knew what I was getting.

BTW, I ordered my steering/suspension components for my truck and I'll be installing them as I go on this project as well! I'm also thinking of installing my tailgate rollpan skin combo as well! And last but not least, order a new front end for the beast as well!

Yah the pinion angle changes about 5 degrees when its laid out and at full lift. Its good at ride height though. I think your theory ought to be correct. It was our first time doing it so, we now know some things we didnt know when we started.

I find the longer the bars less pinion angle bro. Shorter bars more angle and with short bars harder to mount your bags on bar unless you are mounting them on axle.

Uh oh, lol... :\

Talk about wanting to shoot the messenger, lol!

I hope it will still work out for me, otherwise I will have to get a new 4-link to come my way!

UPDATE 5-1-08:

Well, I've ordered new switched instead of the 10 switch acrylic stiffy box. Its an EAI 10 Switch that uses a PS controller! Does'nt have the lockout option and all but has the alarm dump function, atleast! Picked it up on E-Bay for $60! Would have picked up a box from Dev instead, but I was too impatient, lol! I'd HIGHLY recommend going through TheBagShack for air parts!

Here it is:

I could'nt believe how small this is!

-Well, today was my last day at work! I'm officialy out of work! For the moment being! I'm extremely excited to get crackin on this! Tomorrow, I'll be going around seeing how much tubing will cost and whatnot. Next week, I get to put windows in my moms house so the following week is when this thing is really gonna get a fire under it!

More to come! Just wait!

i am looking forward to seeing how it tuns out i want to do the same thing with the fbi 4 link and putting the bags on the bars and some ppl have told me it will not be trong enough and other ppl have told me it will plenty strong i think as long as the bars are gusseted the whole way down the bar it will be strong enough , good luck and let me know how you make out with it
