The instructions actually do mention the plastic deal. They recommend paper cups and sponge brushes.

Did you do shock mounts and everything yet?

Dang! I wish it was done! I'm so anxious to get it on the road! That way I can start paying $4 a gallon, lol!

Eh, it was still tacky when I went outside, and the whole thing rolled on the sawhorses cause it was only a tab holding the thing from flipping. So now I gotta grind off the part where it rolled, lol. Gots paint on it now from the sawhorses!

Oh, I got a brake line from the NAPA site, but I need tabs now so I can lock them onto an L bracket I'm gonna have to make. The pics did'nt show any tabs...

lol, I'm gonna have to go read the instructions again cause I don't remember seeing anything about it. I have'nt done the shock mounts yet, cause I was thinking about how I can make it work, etc... Why ya ask? EH?

cuz if you havent done the shock mounts and your covering it with the por then arent you gonna have to take some of it back off to weld shock mounts on it?

Yea, I will, but it will only be a small area, just wanted to get the majority of it before I put her back in... Cause it would suck tryinf to paint it and holding the rear up somehow and working around it.

Thats the only reason I was thinking.

Did you get the kit, or just the coating? It may not have detailed instructions if its just the coating, but you can download a PDF of the complete instructions on their site I think.

I wasn't too impressed with it, I was able to peel it off with tape in most places even after it had cured for a few weeks. The bottom side of my cab still looks nice and shiny though.

I just got the quart of it. I also got a thing of metal ready as well. I did'nt get the marine clean cause I got acetone and I'm grinding down to bare metal on most of it.

Yea, I read the can and it only says container. Lol, nothing about plastic!

WOW, no way? I can't believe it peeled off? How did you prep it?

I ground it down to bare metal and then wire wheel the ends cause of the grease and all then acetoned it. After, I sprayed on the metal ready and let sit for the 15 minutes to prep for the por-15. Washed it all off with the hose and let dry. Then brushed on the por-15.

I put on 2 coats within an hour, lol. So sue me. It says you gotta wait like 3-5 hours between coats, if I'm not mistaken?

It peeled off the inside of my cab. All I did with that was use aircraft stripper and metal ready. I fear it may have been too smooth. I had good luck on my frame parts and the bottom of my cab, which I removed the paint with aircraft stripped, then cleaned with mineral spirits, and scuffed with 100 grit sandpaper before applying the metal ready. I have hit the bottom of my cab with a hammy on accident without chipping it. But the inner floor, I wore that away with my feet.

ya that por 15 is great stuff but it fades out really fast if left out in the sun definitly has to be clear coated if you are going to show it off. I used it on cid's truck and it is still on there but faded pretty bad.

Will be workin on the rig today, but I dunno if there will be much to see, lol. Unless I get her painted up. Might do some other things to it first...

If you clear coat it v8, will it still fade?
