Project Money Pit finally got layed

Very nice! Must have either put the hinges a little closer to the tail gate skin or ended up with a little larger hinge gap. Either way looks great. How long did it take? Did you get it done in 4 hours? What did you end up using for a latch? I used a simple barrel bolt from Menards.

yeah i got the hinges right against the skin and didnt realize until today that it does hit the light a lil but thats because my bolts ended up being to far out and they are pushing the light out some plus i still need to put my shims in on the bottom hinges to get the body line straight. i actually got it done in about 3 hours i forgot i didnt have class yesterday due to the holiday so i went to my boys uncles shop and done it he has alot better welder (millermatic 250) than the thing we have in class and for the latch my factory latch worked out perfect

^ Sounds good! Made a pretty good guess on the time. If I remember mine, I probably wasted an hour drinking beers while doing the work LOL. Good luck with the rest of the build!

got my roll pan welded on last night still gotta body work it and my tag box then the rear will be done just have a lil body left to the bed and it will be finished

thanks guys i was gonna get started on smoothing it all out tonight but with the storm coming my boys dad doesnt want us in the shop working tonight so i guess ill have to wait until tomorrow night then spend all day sunday on it cause i found out last night the paint booth at school is booked up until the end of the course except for next week so by the end of next week ill atleast have my cab painted cause i doubt ill have the bed finished by next thursday so i can spray the entire truck but im gonna bust my ass all week and try to get it done. the main spot is right behind the driver side wheel where the guy who got it most of the way straight didnt get the line on the fender right but i might just say screw it and get everything but that done and paint it cause i know as soon as i get my hydros on im gonna drag the piss out of it and im liable to mess something up any way im just tired of rolling primer for awhile my last couple of projects stayed in primer until i sold them and im ready for some color
