like flamed said B2600i have head problems. I put 2 heads on mine in 6 months. I finally went through my cooling system. I had the radiator rodded out( thats where the tanks are removed and a radiator shop cleans the individual tubes)(my rad. was an after market that was all metal. The factory are aluminium with plastic tanks.) and flushed the rest of the system. After that I never had any problems.

The stock mazda 2600 head is 100% pure garbage. If I am not mistaken, the mighty max engine, the 2.6 liter, is pretty much the same engine. Check and see, I think the heads are interchangable. Looks like a nice truck either way.
FYI...disconnect that tranny from the radiator, and run it to a seperate oil cooler. Will operate at MUCH cooler temps. My last cab plus was an auto, and I never could figure out why it ran so damn hot, and when I got the transmission its own oil cooler, I realized then it wasnt my engine, it was the transmission going out, and running super hot. Yeh, it DID go out soon after I realized what was going on. But a new cooler, and an oil temp gauge would help a bit. Especially on a 2600i engine that already has temp. problems with the engine alone.

Yah they have some problems. Just dont let it overheat. The coolant passages in the head are too small. The computers have issues sometimes too. The resistors in them will leak get on the circuit board and corrode it and will cause it to not run right.

Ok, well im not plannin on makin it a daily so hopefully i wont have too much trouble, cuz I wont be drivin it all that much, i guess we'll see. The seperate oil cooler idea sounds good. And is the mighty max head better? Would it be worth gettin and puttin on since im takin the head off anyway??

About the Mitsu head going on that block, I doubt it. The carbed 2.6 engines that came in the 86'ish B's used the complete 2.6 g54b mitsu engine, which is why I think people are saying the heads will swap. But for one, that fuel injected motor is all Mazda, two, the intake and exhaust are on different sides.
