that looks really awesome! truck looks great too. i cant imagine how awesome it'll be once its in, tuned and good to go! sweet.

side note, the consoles from a jeep cherokee and compass both dont line up with 4X4 shifters... some trimming would be needed. (it doesnt line up in the jeep 4x4 slots either, more in between the main shifter slot and the 4x4 slot and cold go a bit more forward towards the dash)

Well, obviously it's been a while since I have posted an update. Since then, things have changed a little. I'm now not planning on making this thing a daily driver AND it looks like they're finally going to finish the shop at my house before the new year. Both of those things together mean that I can really go big with this build. Full-on "mini trophy truck", now.

Here's what I'm thinking for the bed:

It will definitely get the Ford 8.8 in the rear.

I'm also thinking about building some fiberglass bubble fenders for it, but that would be a long term goal. If that happens, I'll be sure to hand off these 4x4 fenders to someone here.

Currently, the truck is at a friend's shop in Gulf Shores, AL (). He has a place to store it and he's also going to mount the engine in the next week or so. I should have it back around the first of the year.

I ordered the headers and exhaust tubing today.

Danm man your truck is looking killer and by the looks of what you have for a pic of the bed of the truck it looks llike this thing might be able to do some serious boncing.LOL

glad to see an update man

Thanks. There will be a few more updates and photos in the next couple of weeks. Then, it'll be put on hold for a while. I'm racing in the King of the Hammers UTV race in Johnson Valley, CA in February. This will take most of my attention for the next couple of months. Once I get back, I'll probably dig into this thing, hopefully in the new shop at my house. I'm really pumped about being able to build this thing the way I want it and not rely on anyone else to implement my ideas. No one to blame but myself then.

I had to order a new radiator, plenum spacer (taller valve covers to clear the hydro roller/rockers), under drive pulleys, and a few other odds and ends. They also had to move the A/C condenser.

My concrete slab is finished for my shop. They're supposed to start putting up the building on Monday. After the shop is up, I'll be able to bring her back home. Then, the real fab work can start (axle swap, a-arms, coil overs, tubed bed, etc.).
