Looks great man! I am nearing the same point of adding shocks. I think I have the same size tires are you too... massive! 225/45/17s

Just out of curiosity, do you have a part number for the front shocks you used? I am going to use the monroe catalog and get a fully extended and compressed measurement, but I may be able to use the same ones you got. Thanks!

The 17 isn't that big of a rim on these trucks i agree but with the tire i have on their they are almost 26" tall plus my tires are 9" wide. My truck will easily lay frame on 18"s with lower profile rubber. I actually ended up using "certified" shocks its the Canadian "part source" stores economy brand. They are made for an 80"s 2wd Izuzu pickup. They are aprox 10" center to center fully compressed and aprox 14.5" extended.

Thanks for looking and the comments guys!

Oh yeah, coming along nicely!! Pretty good placement of the front shocks - should work better then either of my trucks. Really diggin the spokes tuckin in that far!

As for comments, I assume you will be adding some bracing to the lower shock mount? Other than that excellent work.

To late I"ll remember that for next time

Should have the front end completely assembled minus brake lines this week!

When i go to auto part stores and try to get the bushings for the front tension rods
everyone looks at me like I'm stupid, no one understand what I'm taking about. Are these replacement parts not available? do you have to buy the entire tension rod to get the bushings? Rocauto.com does not list the parts I'm after.

All front Suspension components are repainted
rad support is por15'd/painted
just waiting for paint to dry before installing radiator/shroud/overflow
and to connect all of the engine harness connectors.

not looking forward to the break lines

Is it just the picture or is one of them bent up pretty bad? Im thinking they are bent like that from factory but cant remember. Just curious because the other appears to be straight but i think it may just be the angle. Im talking about the tension rods by the way haha.

just at a bad angle they are slightly bent from factory

Do you know if i can get those bushings anywhere?

A quick search on yahoo gave me this. I think you have been searching tension rod bushings but technically they are called strut rod bushings. Maybe thats why you havent found any. Hope this helps you out.
