Well today i reinstalled the suspension up front to check out how the front shocks will have to be mounted. Its going to be very tight and I'm not sure what type of shocks i will end up using. Any suggestion or advice for mounting the shocks up front? here is a quick picture of the mounts for reference. Don't mind the surface rust/ugliness/missing gussets the truck was stored all winter unpainted.

Tach it in place and put the tire back on to make sure you can turn without hitting the mount. I think I'am going to reseese my mount into the frame on mine.

That was one of the more difficult parts of my 2 builds. With the green truck, if you turn to sharp at a certian ride elevation, the lower shock mount digs into the back of the rim. The purple truck was similar but the tire rubbed on the shock body at certian ride heights. I think there are pick in the 2 build threads that show some of the locations that I used.

If the lower mount is closer to the ball joint, you get a firmer ride but more of a chance of tire interferance. To close to the LCA pivot point and your shocks become almost worthless.

Just tossed the rim/tire on and WOW there is zero room for a custom tension rod setup unless its very tight to the LCA and starts less than 2/3 of the way down towards the frame. This just reminds me of how EASY it would be to have this truck laying frame on factory wheels, my truck would of been done in one summer! Big wheels aren't easy!

Crawled under the truck today and it looks like factory tension rods will work with VERY little room to spare! this will come together much easier.

for the back i cant find anything monroe that will be even close to working
shocks have to be loop mount and have over 9" stroke/travel but only 11" compressed

No auto stores sell the front tension rod bushings or can even figure out what i am talking about so i guess I'm going to have to go to the dealership. Is there another name for this part i am not familiar with

Cut the box enough to get i to finally fit.
Its pictures like this that keep me from loosing my mind
the front is about 1.5" from laying frame because its sitting on the cross member but the suspensions designed so it does lay out

Figured out the front shocks i will be using and i hope to have pictures of everything tacked in soon

This upcoming week i booked a few days of my payed holidays so I'm hoping to:

-weld up all holes in rad support from drilling out oem fender tubs
-mount the battery box I welded from some angle iron
-burnt in the upper shock mounts/lower mounts
-paint rad support/ Control arms and start reassembly of the front end
-start figuring out what shocks i can use in the rear end and hopefully get
everything burnt in and start reassembly of the rear of the truck

Hoping to get some more pictures to you guys soon

Comment up suckas!

Awesome man glad to see some progress. You keep saying that you are running big wheels. I believe the wires are 17s which are not all that big on these trucks. Are they wider than most? just curious. Either way i think they are sick. I love a nice set of spokes. Im ready to see it all together again
