Thanks for the advice! I am going to stick with stock spindles because I don't feel like spending the money on drop ones, and I love the look of some nasty camber! I got more progress done this weekend... ended up notching the frame so the bag doesn't rub. Check for pictures in my thread.

As for your shock question, get the measurements of extended and collapsed. Use the Monroe shock catalog. It is downloadable, and will give you the compressed and extended lengths of all their shocks. Even if you dont want to run Monroes, you can cross-reference their part number with whatever company you want to use.

Ok right on! Can anyone else chime in with some basic oem shocks they are running? Id like something readily available

Today i picked up some tubing for the custom front tensions rods and rear upper shock mounts as well as shocks. Hoping to mock it up within a day or two its been plus 35 C* here! way to warm for my liking.

Not real quick with my temp conversions but I can relate to ya...
Today our heat index (temp + humidity) was 120 degrees F

Just to dang hot to do much of anything outside. Hopefully though it cools down for ya and ya can quick slackin on your progress

Just kiddin!

edit - watching the news and they just said the heat index is at 100 degrees at 10:00pm, WTF

thanks for looking

spent the entire night fighting the rear shock setup. I'm currently using some new oem shocks because they were readily available in town. The only issue is that they have to be mounted about 4" higher than the notch because of their length. I just tacked everything together tonight to get an idea but i don't know any other way i could run them. As of now they work but I'm not happy with how it looks. any ideas?

you dont have to run them straight up and down. you could run them at an angle

you could run them off the front of you notch towards the cab to your link bars... or angle them where the bottoms towards eachother tops are further away but you will have to run bolt welded to the axle

As stated above, run them at an angle. Given that you have a loop at each end of the shock, I would create a stud type mount near where the lower link bar attaches to the rear axel. Then have the upper shock mount near the center of the truck but no higher than the top of your notch (lower if possible). Just make sure the shock mounts don't bind when your axel travels up and down.

thanks for the suggestions
i had originally had the tops mounted on the pipe right across the top of the notches but they would just bind and make contact with the axle.
