I have no ECM or related wiring, running the stock carb still though. I don't recall if it came back on before or after I removed it though...

My 86 does not have an MIL light. I have 4 lights: EGR, Battery, Oil and parking brake. (unless a prior owner pulled a bulb). Just for my sake, I just went out to my truck, turned it on, reached through the dash (lower panel and speaker are both out of the truck) felt around for the wires and switched them. Started the truck up, BAM! EGR light is off again. If you have a B2000 and you still don't have it figured out tomorrow I will get a picture of the wires and their location.

Yeah, I see the two pictures of "submarines" in my post, both at home and while at work.

Oh, I saw those. Mine isn't that logo, it actually says "EGR."

Charles, can you take a pic? It would be very appreciated. I hope to be driving it this weekend, but that light will bug the crap out of me.

Ok, just got on lunch and snapped two pictures. The first is a single wire with a black connector, this is what was plugged in before I switched it. Next I moved the black connector out of the way and took a picture of the two currently connected. These in my case are both white single wire connections. This is above the fuse panel and behind the speaker. Hope this helps.

Thanks. Your pictures help solidify what I've been imagining. Tonight when I'm working on the truck, I'll try that and report back.

Thanks again, y'all!

Holy crap, sorry for the huge pictures, I just posted straight off my phone.

Better too big than small. My phone scales anyway. So no harm! Thx again.

So thanks to everyone's help I found the wires. I switched them, but it didn't seem to clear it. Do I need to switch them while the truck is on and/or running? I'll try switching them back tonight and see if that works.
