I swapped the gauge cluster from B2000 into my B2200 so I would have a tach (which worked). However, the EGR light (which I didn't even know existed) is constantly on. Is there any way to turn it off? Maybe some wire or corrector I'm not seeing that I can fudge to turn it off?

I don't know if it's related but when the cluster was in the B2000 the washer light was constantly on, but I was told that's due to the sensor in the washer fluid tank being known for going bad.

There are two wire connectors under the dash that you will change and it resets the light, or you could just pull the bulb.

I'm not familiar with the 2.0 trucks so I ask, does it actually say EGR on the cluster because those two connectors charles mentioned are for signaling the timing belt replacement on the 2.2 Bs - unless of course there is a similar set of connectors on the b2000 for the EGR.

I wasn't aware there was a difference. Sorry for the bad info. On my 86 there is a light that says EGR. When I bought some parts from David (lsumazda) he switched the connectors for me and three light went out. Fast forward so many months and miles and the light is back on, I just ignore it. The wires were on the left side of the dash behind the vent, are these the same connectors for the timing belt on the b22? Also, what does it illuminate on a b22?

Charles: I'll have to look further at the dash. By "behind the vent", do you mean the vent directly under the steering column?

Dan: Yeah, "EGR." I can take a pic tonight. When I turn the key on, four lights, all in a row, light up. EGR, Washer, Charge, and a fourth (can't remember ATM), in that order. Once I start the truck, all go out EXCEPT for the EGR.

At 60K miles, 80K, 120K, etc., the Malfunction Indicator Light will come on, supposedly so you get dealer to check emissions but more likely so they can try to sell you a timing belt replacement. By the way, do get the timing belt replaced every 60K miles, and maybe get the water pump changed at the 120K point along with it, as it's an internal water pump, behind the timing belt, and mine started leaking at that point, so it's a big labor savings $$$ to do both at once. The Malfunction Indicator Light is re-set by swapping a wire push-on connector under the dash, driver side, right next to the firewall; it's hard to see, lie down and look up, there will be a bare connector, just swap it, then swap back next time the light goes on at that set interval.
Swap the Brown/white stripe and the green wires.

It's a check engine light. Pictogram of an engine and the word check under it.

It comes every 60K Cusser and that is about the time a timing belt is needed on these things. Remember this is circa 25 year old technology. Timing belts may last longer now but they didn't back then. Personally, a few hours and $15 bucks isn't worth getting stranded - these engines are non-interference. I'd change it every 60K - for me that would be about every 10 years!

the rest as they say is, what he said

You mean the picture of a submarine that Mrs. Cusser called about when she didn't tighten fully the gas cap on her Yukon?

Hahaha. Good Beatles reference.

I checked your link Cusser, but I saw no picture. Can you see it?

It is the EGR light. The fourth was the brake light. Must've had the emergency brake pulled. Doh!

Ill see if I can reset it somehow given the descriptions.

Wait, should this light up even without the old ECM and wiring harness gone? I pulled them out a long time ago. (Weber swap.)
