So as the title says it won't start now. It ran great before asside from a bit of coolant in the exhaust and water in the oil. I ripped it apart Tuesday morning found that there was some pitting on the deck surface so I filled it with some jb weld. Iv done that many of times it just gives the gasket something to sit on because it wasn't on a pressure part of the deck. Any ways filled it smoothed the jb back down and installed the head gasket with a head I pulled from the local junk yard. I inspected the head and couldn't fine any thing wrong ground the valves and cleaned everything up. Once I have the engine reassembled it ran but have a bad miss on cyl 4 so I checked the compression 150 on all 4 and spark on all 4. I figured maybe this cam had a bad lobe or something so I swapped it out and rechecked the timing. Everything is set and good but it won't start at all now. It just Cranks with th teasing like it's going to start but doesn't. I'm stumpe

Spray some aerosol starting fluid into the carb throat, hold pedal down, try to start (do this a few times). If it runs, even poorly or for just a few seconds, then you have a fuel delivery issue.

If it doesn't start, check for spark ith inline spark checker tool, inserting a spark plug into a spark wire and touching the outside terminal to ground, and looking for spark while someone cranks the engine. Of course that spark needs to be at the right instant, or "time". So that that circles around to timing belt alignment (or the distributor alignment, if you removed that during this process).

Always isolate a no-start as to whether spark or fuel related, just don't blindly throw parts at it, check it out.

My next step is to try and start with carb cleaner. It's fuel injected by the way.

OK well not too sure what the "cylinder seal" as you call it is.

If the truck sounds like it has compression then most times it'll run - the biggest single mistake I see on these motors is the distributor is in wrong, pull it out and put the motor at TDC #1 **MAKE 100% SURE it is at TDC on #1.

Line up the pointer on the end of the distributor snout to the dot on the gear (not the pin, but the dot) then insert the distributor, making sure not to move it, and also taking note of how it turns as the worm gears engage.

Finally, double check the installed position of the rotor, the tip should face (not just face, but be centered on) the #1 terminal on the cap when the distributor is adjusted to the middle of it's adjustment range.

If your firing order is correct and the distributor is installed correctly, then it will run as long as you have fuel.

The only other problem I have seen is that people misplace the grounds (these trucks don't have enough in my opinion - but that can also interrupt power to the fuel injection so be careful.

Right. A B2600i rotor can actually go on in three orientations. And two are wrong.

so i have a bit of a update. i managed to get it to start this afternoon and got it to my shop, (i work for my dad at his shop here in town) i picked my cousins brain telling him what it was doing and then we both had a bit of a break through. i belive i fried my ecu some how. it only runs on 3 cylinders has compression and spark on all 4 timing is dead on (checked it 4 times at cam crank and distributor) has fuel pressure and runs fine on external fuel ie ether sprayed in the pcv hole. while i was driving it every time i put the clutch in it it revs up and does weird up and down fluctuations. it has a terrible miss when under load but nothing at 3 grand with clutch in and brake on(explain that to me) so i may be able to get another ecu to test and make sure and if that is the case ill use that one until i can get mine repaired or until i can afford a stand alone and supercharge the little bitch. i will post pictures of what i meant by compression ring and where i put the jb weld.
