Yes it does, so that could be a possibility too

I'm in indiana but bought the car from Ohio. I don't believe the truck was ever EFI but I can't be sure it was never converted. It does have a vacuum advance distributor. as far as I know, you're correct on everything about how the timing is set, but I believe I've done all this correctly. Of course, I'm not beyond botching something while I'm ready to push it off a cliff so it couldn't hurt to go over it again.

So I've tried the fuel pump new plugs and verified that the keyway on the crank is not smashed. The timing is spot on at the crank and cam. Keyway is at 12 o'clock distributor marks match up and cam lines up with the timing mark with cylinder 1 at tdc. Of course the damn weber is dribbling gas down the booster venturi again. Replacing the cover gasket power valve and needle valve has no effect. I suspected the float but it floats in gas. This is not remedied even by sitting the float level lower. There must be something I'm missing with this weber.

Maybe the floats not floating

Pretty sure you're right. At least I hope so. Just gotta wait on the float to get here. Don't understand how it could run at 35 advanced to idle though. Seems like I must've inadvertently corrected something tearing stuff apart and putting it back together. Timing at the cam and disrtibutor appear the same as before I took the belt off. I dunno just confusing.

You said you ordered a Weber from Ebay? I made the same mistake before and got a knock-off Weber. Ran like crap, fouled plugs, never would idle. So now I have an expensive paperweight and a genuine Weber installed. Night and day difference.

Yeah, for some reason I can't paste anything here right now, including a link. It is supposed to be genuine. I did not get it from weber carbs direct, because I read they were fake. As far as I can tell it checks out good. I can't remember what they were but it had some markings or something that you can use to identify genuine carbs. Came with like 45 minute video showing how the carb works, disassembly and everything. Not how to install it though lol.

Yeah it is supposed to have lettering cast on it and not the Weber sticker on top.
That is what I went off of to make sure mine was genuine.

Yeah. Should a known better. Hopefully just the float though. Or at least gets it to run long enough to save up for a real Weber.

Does that truck have the mechanical fuel pump or the in tank version? If its the in tank version you have to run a pressure regulator with it. I tried one of those turn dial regulators but ended up switching to the holley regulator.
