Thanks guys! Im done sanding the door.........FINALLY! lol, Just one high spot but shhhhh. lol. Its gonna be white nobody will notice. I really dont want to hammer it and fill it lol Im so sick of sanding. So Im leaving it the way it is. Its damn near perfect and unless your a body guy... well even then you still probly wont notice it lol. Its extremely small.. I know I know I should just do it. But no damnit lol I dont wanna!

Well in order to post more pics lol, I either need to remember to bring my camera to the shop.... or pay my cell phone bill lol. I primed the driver doors yesterday, Guide coated and blocked this morning, Found some low spots on both doors. I pulled the rear driver door off and filled and blocked, Filled again and waiting for it to dry right now, Then block once again, guide coat and repeat lol. Its a process no doubt but the end result will be all worth it!

LMAO, you have no idea how many times I have said those very words. Don't know if you ever thought about it but imagine how much fun it is hand sanding all the major body lines on a Mazda truck. It sucks. And if your one of those guys that says its not to bad your lying - it just sucks!

As always looking forward to you getting to the "fun" part. And hope you still have enough finger numbs left to pull the trigger on the spray gun

haha, Seriously, It sucks I will admit it all first hand. Im not painting it myself my buddy who is showing me how to do all this is going to spray it for me I got both driver side doors re primered and gonna block them this weekend then move onto the passenger side. The two passenger doors will probably take a few days the rear one especially the front isnt bad at all. Im thinking my mid next week date lol will be pushed a week further but thats not too bad Thanks for the positive remarks

holy cow, yer back, Hell I been gone too, lol
I have also had a rough year or 2 had 4 jobs within the last 6 months and I missed out on about 2 months of work just barely able to keep the house, shit, sold all the furniture.......................

Things are lookin up though, hopefully the new job I will stay busy at for a while.

I love the square body jap cars esp hondas

I wanna do something radical with one after I finish my trucks, maybe a CRX or del sol, or a hatch civi.
Or maybe get another SIR, hb civi...............

keep it up , oh yeh and as a body man , I can say if yer gonna pearl it , its gotta be perfect even in white , with all the investments others have put into this for you, ya owe it to them and yourself, to be proud of the finished product.
And,..... its gonna nag at ya, so just do it, lol

Lol, Glad to see you back too man! sorry about the financial stress for you man, I know how you feel. I dont have a mortgage but I have rent and Im on my last pennies right now been outta work for 2 or 3 months now. Ive been interviewing for store manager at auto zone I really pray I get it. I need the job badly. Thanks for the positive feedback everyone! I ended up re filling anf sanding.....all damn day yesterday, I spent about 8 hours on both doors. Theyre both primed again and we laid the primer thick so I can block it. I might go to the shop later this afternoon or just wait til Monday not sure yet. I like 4 door anythings really, But I love the boxiness of this car. I have JDM mud guard just waiting to paint it first before they go on. I had a 95 hatch a few years back. One of my fav cars I ever had. This car should look pretty f'n sweet when done, My buddy who is doing the interior is working on a bunch of vans and trucks for the city right now (about 45 bench seats to re upholster) So my interior is on hold until those get done. I have a new carpet kit Im waiting to put in until my seats are done, I still have to pull my dash to paint it the same as my door panels. I pulled my 3rd brake like, and amd trying to come up with some LED light that reads civic when lit. We'll see if I can do it. Also I have a set of rear disc brakes off an integra Im gonna throw on it soon as paint is done and I have a job for new pads on the brakes lol. Anyway Ill take some pics off my phone somehow and load em up soon as I can for you guys, Im taking tons of pics as this is my first real paint job and my first real go at body work. Im gonna use it as a reminder that any dent is a big dent lol.

cool cool,
Hope ya get the job, man, really.
block lightly, was it a high solids primer ?
Me and the wife like the boxy style too.
As far as painting plastic goes, I would sandblast the dash and use adhesion promoter, some guys coat it in resin and glaseing putty then block it out to perfection, actually if I remember correctly somebody on here did a good write up a couple months back maybe sosa or linn?

Anyways keep us updated.
And good luck with the work situation too.

Im not smoothing it out, I didnt smooth any of the door panels, So Im leaving the textured look as if it were factory. Its a high build primer? All Dupont and PPG products. My paint is a bright white PPG, with Dupont clear and white pearl. Dupont lays better with clear a lot less orange peel, Then I get to wet sand it to perfection I will be using adhesion promoter, I didnt on my door panels but I did use Vynil/ Interior paint, It adhered wonderfully everywhere but on the two front doors the parts thats are covered when the doors are shut, it didnt adhere well there so I will be re paintint those when I pull the dash to paint it. I do block lightly really lightly, I block with 180 grit. It works out nicely. I have to block these two doors one more time then Ill be done and ready to move on to the passenger side
