Anyways heres some pictures, found my sisters camera. Heres my mess, really don't even know where to start but I assume the best route would be to get a weber, but that doesn't solve my wiring.

Heres the hack job on all of my vacuum lines on the side of my carb, along with a very large wiring harness going to nowhere.

Some wires that were cut for some reason.

if you buy a weber you can get rid of that wire harness on that side all but the wires for the wiper motor. and you can even pull the ecu from the passenger side kick..... and as for the webers advantiages is you get a cleaner looking engine bay with non of that emissions junk (can pass without all that mess), a better running truck, adjustablity, and better fuel milliage, buy a pacesetter for the drivers side and really clean up the look

Another hack and slash job.

It is scary that there are people out ther that actually do that sort of thing to a vehicle.

Thanks for posting the pictures.

That harness is the half that runs to the ECM.

The other half normally contains the idle cut-off solenoid and a couple other things on the carburetor, which I don't recall right now.

A separate, two wire connector controls the mixture control solenoid on the carburetor, which since I didn't see the harness connector, was probably cut off the carb.

Bottom lline, you have to make a decision here.

1. If your state has mandated emissions testing, you may have compliance issues.

2. You can take the vehicle back to stock. . .and that is going to cost time and money. Personally, the best mileage you are going to get with a stock setup when the systems work is better than what you will get with a Weber. . .but the complexity to get back to stock may not be worth the trouble to you.

3. If the vehicle was not sold with a passing emission compliance certificate, you have grounds for a recission of the sale, if the state requires a passing e-test prior to sale or transfer.

4. The stock carb setup is set up to run rich in failure mode, so a Weber by default will do better than a broken stock stetup like what you have.

My reason for a Weber.

Looks so much better

dont forget you most likely want a pacesetter header with your weber like above post has

Yea luckily here in Ohio, I do not have any sort of emissions so I figure a weber, and a pacesetter sounds to be the best idea. I may even remove the cats to free up the flow of the exhaust a little more. Thanks for all the information guys, I really didn't know what I was getting into when I got this truck. Last night I finally switched the antifreeze out from red, to green.. not sure what he was thinking when he put that in. One other problem I am having now is there is a slight knock, until the truck runs for a second.. So I will probably look into that a bit further before I start changing out parts.

Btw which should I get?

i have the 32/36 on mine

that "slight knock" is probably just a valve "tick" which is common on a 2.2l, they have hydrolic lifters.

you guys are awesome, I will keep in touch and keep you guys updated on what goes on. Just got to get a little money saved now. Did a gas mileage check yesterday, 17mpg! lol

I noticed in a couple other threads saying you do need a few of the vacuum lines for the weber to be installed. Before I decide to order one, which ones exactly is it I need? Being I have nothing now.
