Thanks... I did a 4.3 swap in an 89 mazda b2200 convertible.. if you notch the crossmember, you can set that engine back and down very well. Truck still drove well, and had plenty of power and room to work on everything. I just wish I had pictures of it.. did it way back in 96.. .I highly reccomend you look into it.. motors are cheap, reliable and not nearly the headache for a swap.. if you want to sell that weber I am looking for one!

Most likely we are, but I'm not sure when I will get it off. I'll let you know.


Found a 96' F-150 5.0 (302) engine with 5speed tranny and transfer case with 79k. Going to pick it up Wednesday night!

I bought the same shocks for my truck they seem to be about the perfect length.

Picked up the 302 and 5 speed tranny last night! So now I'm on the lookout for a 2wd tailshaft, intake manifold, and a new carburetor (not doing an FI... easier to do a carb). I'll get some pics this weekend.

Check Racingjunk.com and local craigslist. That stuff should be easily sourced from the Rustang community. The tail shaft may be a harder find. I'd scout the local tranny shops, may find a tranny thats trshed w/ a good tailshaft.

I'll probably end up buying the carb new, and possibly a used intake, but there is some nice packaged deals out there. Just gotta see if the price is right.

Well I called a transmission company today and they said the 4WD tranny from the F-150 cannot be converted to 2WD without replacing main shaft and extension shaft. I would be better off selling that tranny and finding a 2WD one.

So I am on the lookout for a 87-93 Mustang transmission... the world class T-5, manual. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. Slim picking on craigslist.

There should be a pull a part or pick and pull in your area.

There is a few, which I've called... most of them didn't have one. One place wanted $750. That's ridiculous.

Let me know if you need the rear sump oil pan {if the engine you have has a front sump oil pan it won't work}.
