Too bad you are in PA. You seem to be a pretty chill fella. You would mesh well with the gasoline junkies around here. P.S. "Gasoline Junkie" is a registered trademark of mine. Y'all can't have it! Seriously though, snatch dat motor already; it only weighs like 100lbs. I REALLY wanna see more progress. Some of us are living vicariously through you, my friend. Happy hacking!

Haha, thanks. I will get back to the project soon. Just have a couple things to do around the house before winter.

hey man sick build cat believe i only saw it now , i have one question tho.

not bashing your shit becuase i did my truck the same way
but i noticed your control arm on the drivers side was cut out to clear the steering column when aired out.

i got two questions.

[1] Do you think the upper and probably the lower control arms need reinforcing?
[2]did u have to modify the firewall to make your column stay in stock position ?

Thanks!
As for your questions, I pie cut the uppers so the ball joint would not bind, and I notched the drivers side upper arm so it would clear the the steering column. When I notched it, I reinforced the notched area with a half piece of pipe.
I did not have to modify the firewall at all. Keep it mind, this is not power steering... just manual.

I don't see any need for reinforcing them anymore. They feel pretty strong to me.

Here is a picture of the bag compressed

I brought my truck home to clean up and take to a show this weekend in Ohio. It's been for sale on Craigslist for about a week. I'll put a sign in it at the show too. Might be last time I ever take it to a show This was a bittersweet reunion for the two trucks. A couple years ago, my S10 was in the garage getting all the love, while the Mazda was sitting outside in the cold/crappy weather. Now the S10 stays at my fiance's parents house in their garage, but never gets worked on anymore (and she's for sale... shhhhhh). On the other hand, the Mazda is in a nice warm garage and is under major construction. He's in his glory!!

PS - Lil Red is a HE... it is my fiance's truck after all...
