Well guys, I think the shit hit the fan...

The transmission is NOT what I expected. I will not be able to swap the bell housing.

So with the diesel tranny in the courier using the stock 1.8 tranny location the diesel engine sits about 3 inches to far forward.

Right now I will require a shortened driveshaft and have to cut the core support so I can move the radiator forward another 3 or 4 inches. Pics coming soon

ouch, I'm sorry to hear that. Couldn't you always just move the transmission crossmember back 3 inches and relocate the shifter?

Is that a stock rear with just dually wheels on it? It looks totally sick...

I too would just move the trans mount back vs cutting the core support. You need to figure if there were ever an accident with no core support your front end will be ruined, even at low speeds and it can easily take your motor with it. Always best to prepare for the worst.

I am abandoning the diesel. I could make it fit just way to much cutting and custom drive shaft. Have it sold and will bricking up another 76 Courier with a donor engine. Staying stock but will be able to finish before end of July.

good move, diesels sound crap anyway. petrol ftw

Holy shit.... What a difference a month makes.. Sold the diesel sold the dually kit and still my old lady took all the money except $250. So i picked up a 2.0 from a 81 ford courier. it was supposed to be a direct bolt up swap. which everything did bolt up just fine.

Just one major issue, the fan doesnt fit between the water pump and radiator.
