Well, it looks like the style in pic A is the winner. I will try to install these asap, but I can't find the clear lens that goes behind the red lens. I would just about bet my wife threw them away $^%#$%^.

In hindsight I should have used a jig saw.......Here is how it went with the ghost lights.

I first tried to center them by measuring from the bottom of the valence. The valence might have been off on the bottom just a bit because I ended up with a slanted line.

Then I went with the top of the license plate indention. I snapped a chalk line across the top.

Then I measured from each side of the lic plate about 13", and 14"

After getting everything lined up, I drilled two holes on each side at 13/14".

Then I used the template to drill two more small holes at the out edges of the lens. After that I enlarged all of the holes with the drill bit that matched the template.

Now I read the instructions, and they said to use a cutoff wheel to go from hole to hole, but in hindsight I should have used a jig saw as the wheel was hard to keep straight and not over cut, as well as heat build up which loosened all of the body work.

Now, I have my holes, but need to work them with filler, and re-prime.

Looking good. Wish I could remember the thread on here where someone used a similar technique on a late 60's Mustang. Finished product looked like a shaved light (car was black) until you stepped on the brake and BOOM, there they were.

I am assuming you will clear over the tail light lenses once everything is done?

I might actually do that with the lights. The only problem would be the cops.

Sad enough in the world today every routine traffic stop escalates into a search for drugs.

Well another setback and pass the dufuss award.

The temp was up to 60 deg today so I had the chance to repaint the hood {remember it cracked due to the bracing being removed to clear the under hood plate}.

One night last week I got the idea to check the last water catch in the system. Its one of those that hold a roll of paper in the size of toilet paper, but not toilet paper.

Well, I didn't have any of the brown paper that was supposed to there so I used,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,yep, you guessed it..........................................................toilet paper.

When I was done there was a nice mist of craters like in the moon, with the occasional suicidal insect weakly struggling in the wet paint.

I tried to take pictures for you guys, but like the paint it didn't come out well.

You can still see in the pic below, in the yellow line of the glare the small craters.

AAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaagggggggggggggh !

Yep, been there before. Hopefully your drywall in the grage is still hole free. (yes, I did. Once.)
(honest)

I have to admit, I would rather have the suicidal bug over the fisheyes. Atleast there is only 1 or 2 bugs. Fisheyes on the other hand can number in the hundreds.

Did you use Charmin? Or one of those single ply generic brands? Probably what made the difference.
Those single plys are just terrible at absorbing anything

I don't remember what toilet paper I used.

My logic was that since its there to absorb moisture then it would be damp enough so that it didn't put its lint into the paint.

I bought the proper brown paper towel stuff today so that should work.
