project b2600: my 87 project 4x4

so heres a link to an 87 with a pacesetter header. and its 4x4. sounds pretty good. i think the header will fit lol.

so you do engine repair right? would you take a look at my thread in the 2.6 engine section where i asked about a rebuild? i posted pics of the fwd g54b head i received with my truck its supposedly got 30k on the clock and the valve guids are great but i have no idea if i can make it work plus it has a small gouge in one of the combustion chambers and idk how i could deal with it. heres another site for our engine but good lord are they spendy...

Im liking the truck bro! God I wish my 4x4 would finish the engine work itself lol. mines injected mazda engine but its got 300,000 on the clock, so while doing the head i stopped and decided to do the rings, bearings, etc... I bought it from the original owner when I was 16 (who babied it), then I beat the shit out of it and now I wish I was nicer to it because I just now really appreciate how awesome of a truck it is. The worst part is that there are parts from my truck like fender flares and door skins all over the east coast at various EX-girlfriends houses (who hate me) and I'm sure the parts were thrown away years ago. . . I have serious plans for that truck and I look forward to your posts for inspiration.

Hey thanks man Yea i feel that my engine work is prolly gonna cost me a pretty penny and as knowledgeable as i am about how a car works i havent have much time actually working on them so my wrenching skills arent the best. i try to take it pretty easy on my truck cause she is all i have but im still looking forward to some trail riding lol. The injected engine is the one i wish i had. More power and torque om nom lol. Damn women lol. My current gf is a freakin angel but the others not so much ahaha so i know where your coming from. I left my entire cd case with one and almost didnt didnt get em back and when i did it was three years later :X. I am stoked that some is looking to my truck for inspiration haha as it prolly isnt going to have tons of money dumped into it so its like a refresh/ daily driver/ light trail ride for me. I hope to do a new head and rings and bearings here soon. saving up the cash as we speak. im sure your truck will turn out as nice. there as some links in this thread for parts id like to take a few and have em stickied so all b2600 guys will know whats what with parts and dont have to crowd up the forums lol. btw you have an injected one ive got a cluster up in the for sale section incase you might need it Hope i can continue inspiring lol

lol well i just really like how you are building your truck for a functional and practical daily driver, for example, you had to make that tool box because of the fender wells, right? Most people on this forum probably think the junk box should be tossed, i might be wrong but I never see them in other peoples pics. but yeah it took a while, but i found the girl for me but even her uncle threw out my OEM 4x4 rim, (you can see its missing in my banner) because i left it in his shop for a month. Now Im buying a set from that guy Britt who built that badass 4x4 mazda with the 5.0. oh well, i just can't wait to have my own shop, im going to leave my shit all over the place and no one is going to throw it away...

Yea I have just always wanted myself a little stick shift 4x4 and it was gifted to me The tool box came with the truck and its really really helpful. I'd love a four point rollbar with lights but they wouldnt get the same use hahaha. I have a pair of stock chrome mazda rims that i have no use for im trying to hock on craigslist. Yea ive had people who were supposed to hold things for me toss em out. Sucks. I can't wait to have my own garage as well cause i know i'll be the only one out there working on ish lol. did some 4x4 fun on christmas went out to the trails with a friend and had a blast. even with stock suspension and open diffs it performed very amazing i thought only got pics today of the mud left over cause it wasnt planned so i didnt bring the cam lol. and for the bad news a shock came loose during the adventure and the nut is so stuck i decided to take 50 bucks and just get new ones. so ill take pics of that job tomorrow

threw two new front shocks on today and i am happy with the result but the front now sits higher then it did before so i hope it settles down. the original shocks were crap compared to the standard monroe gas charged ones as far as bushings go haha. the front end still feels loose but that has to be other bushings somewhere and my alignment needs to be fixed still but hey im actually getting the project worked on
