The progress I made this holiday weekend
Finished welding and applied a coat of paint to protect them:
It didn't turn out too bad. LH side:
RH side:
Then to the transmission mount. I wanted to used the stock Skyline mount. More work then I thought...
B22 crossmember on the bottom, skyline's on top:
Some "engineering" going on:
All welded up:
And the final product after a coat of paint:
Bolted right on
I had to cut the tunel for the shifter, I took it apart and fliped the lever 180 degrees so it would be slanted forward and give me more room. I'm glad I can keep my recently reupholsted bench seat
Everything fits, including AC compressor and power steering:
Not much room between the PS pulley and the AC condenser, definately no room for a fan there. That's my dilema, I would have to put a push type fan in front of the condenser, but if I do, there's not enough room for a good intercooler...
It looks like it belongs there
I am amazed that the front sagged so little with the RB instead of the 4 banger. I did not change the adjusters and it only dropped about 3/8"
Next I have to get rid of all of this and start the installation of my RX7 IRS. Lots and lots of work to do...
