Oh good golly, another build thread.

Back story?
2.2 carbed 86hp (once upon a time) POS.
Daily driver/work mule/sometimes tows horses.
"Soloution" -> FE-DOHC because it has a minimum of fabrication (I naively thought)

Looks good so far. You always work bare foot?
jenko   +1y
Hmm... had many more pictures... not sure where they have gone
Once MT is back I'll grab them and update this thread too.
I'll update "stuff to do" and perhaps a little more detail of "stuff being done" which will be easy as it's bugger all!

I get my manifold THIS WEEK... it's now Thursday so... THIS MONTH... maybe... NEXT MONTH... it's not far away
I've seen a picture of it from a fab bloke I follow on FB, I said "ooh... wish I could afford one of them!"
He said: "Might be yours, who's doing yours"
Me said: "The one closest to the camera looks like my runners, Manon Race Products"
He said: "That's the one then!"
lol... NZ is quite small.
I'm not sure what it'll end up being like but the dude does nice work and I know it's going to be 2 piece

usually
Knees aren't the best anymore so try and keep barefoot when I can.

LOL! First thing I thought when I saw the pics was "his toes must be made of steel"
Watch out buddy, you already have bad knees, you don't want bad toes too.

Interesting build though, keep us posted!

Hey progress already.
2" blocks ordered just now.
Shackle bushes turning up tomorrow.
Brake pads going in now... they're the most aggressive pads I've ever put on 4 wheels (not bad by bike standards either!)... may need new rotors next time around!
Try out my xmas present from the missus's folks, 5500 lbs trolley jack.

Toes of steel, brains of jam.

Found that picture of the intake in progress.
If I'd known he was doing it I would have got him to chop down the runners to give me some more space between my clutch master cylinder... I think she's going to be close!

Well that put the brakes on that... or rather it DIDN'T.

Anyone who has read my MT thread will find that I have an inordinate amount of "luck" in finding those who ate lead paint chips as children.
What I was not expecting is .. la la la... loosey loosey loosey loosey loosey locknut... where IS THE LOCKNUT?
Not in the vehicle... now 3 months ago I had a puncture repair done... hmmmm.
Ring ring...
"hello it's me, do you have a dish full of lock keys?"
"umm... who's this"
"this is me"
"umm... yes we do... do you need to get a lock nut off?"
"no, I'm just asking"
"oh...(puzzled) are you sure?"
"now that you mention it, yes, I believe you may have mine, I was in 3 months ago for puncture repair"
"we always give back the lock key"
"so your dish full of keys are like reception mints?"
"i'll check with Dave, he can get lock nuts off without a key"
"no point wait!!....... oh damn......"
wait......
"yes dave can get them off without a key"
"that's super, I'll see you tomorrow"
"you want to come down now? Dave is still here"
"no, it's 5.05pm... Dave won't be in a happy mood when he attacks my wheels, see you tomorrow"
"okay then"

This bloke was quite nice and Dave for still being there... but the paint chip eating fellow down at the tyre shop is quite easy to pick out. He's only 4 feet tall, he moves ALL the cars and ALWAYS drags the seat FULL forward and NEVER puts it back... I think he's a lock nut fairy. Closely related to the underpants gnomes.
Step 1: Steal Lock Nut Keys
Step 2: ????
Step 3: PROFIT!

Perhaps the problem was that last time I left it on the seat for them and pointed to where it was. (as I've been down the 2 previous times to "find" it because I didn't "have" one after telling them it was in the little tray thing RIGHT BESIDE THE STEERING WHEEL) which made it seem less important that I need it back?

Well... it might just be somewhere in the ute and I'm a massive tool
(yes I checked... yes not just like a man! lol)
