That plenum looks beautiful! Nice work!

2 inches lower in the back.
Don't like what it does to the handling.... hindsight... should have had the leaves reset... oh well... I'll survive
Very happy with how it sits, just need to drop the front a little, but may wait until new engine is in and do shocks (dreadfully in need) at the same time... god.... sounds like I'll be busy!
Also have to wrap it again as that's the old logo... and update the website.. and wrap the other ute... DAMN IT!

And because I said I'd post a pic of the missus contribution to the ute on here.
He's the freshest "flares" you'll ever see!!!!!!

p.s: are you drooling at the front end? don't worry, you're just sick like the MT guys

Nice job Dr. J.

"so your dish full of keys are like reception mints?"

Now that was funny. Keep on posting.

So... I put shoes on... The metal splinters won. It's WAAAAAAY too hot for shoes, I'm soaked through with perspiration... urgh... send me a breeze!

So I went and picked up my $1.50 seats today.. that's... $1.50 for 2 front seats and a back seat from a series 4 RX7.
I gave him the shrapnel in my pockets so it was about a 300% tip.. lol.
Went and spent $5 at the "Wash world" shampoo and vacuum machine... that made them smell nice.
Then went and spent $5.95 on some "upholstery cleaner" which made them smell shit.
But here they are, not bad for under $20

So it's time to replace my POS seats.
Old on left, new on right.

Swap those rails over, line up very nicely except they are closer together (so you need to shorten the rail slider wire)
Bolt for bolt easy!!!!!
Had to elongate the holes in the feet though (remember how I said I put shoes on?) the rails were closer together.. still.. easy enough.
Comparison pictures.

For the drivers side one rail didn't match up (go figure)
So I drilled a new hole and stuck a nylock behind there (luckily I had a few 8mm ones lying around brand new!)

DONE!!!!!

They are SWEET! Oh so very very much better than the last seats.. WHY did mazda not stick these in in the first place?
I didn't think there'd be much difference but damn!! My back and knees will love this!
Someone say "Lumbar adjustment?"
Yessir!!!!!!!
I may jack (shim) the LHSR of the drivers seat a little... we'll see. off for a drive
jenko   +1y
Ok so yes, you MUST shim the drivers seat (well at least if you're RHD).
Seriously on the piss! Shimmed as much as I could, and is just about perfect, oh so good laterally, makes you more confidant to throw her around... oh and re-tightening the u-bolts was a good plan, probably didn't need to leave em a week.

Intake arrived today... finally.. it's nice and small and not too tall.... unlike Sarah.
Still... hope it clears the clutch master cylinder!
No reason to piss about anymore, just got offered a V8 to drive while I have the truck off the road too.. lol... so maybe there IS a reason to take my time! hahaha.. at least while the tyres hold out.

Looks great Dr.J! Are you going to dyno this engine? Is it going to be turbo charged?

Man, I would love to see the numbers on that engine running about 25 psi of boost.
jenko   +1y
I could get used to being called Dr J
No plans for a turbo as yet (or the plenum & tb would have been larger ).
Some mild boost would be quite nice though! Running at 10:1 I'm limited without water/methanol injection or lowering compression.
Fred was running silly boost on his engine, till he blew it up... but that was his fault more than the engines fault! Nice strong engines.
Just N/A for the time being, thought about doing a SC14 S/C set up but that'll come(or not) once she's in a running.
That'd bump it over 200hp which would be very handy and be DIFFERENT which is always fun.
Still going to nearly double my hp as it is! hahaha
Thanks Mtrain!

Greetings to the faithful:
Todays sermon comes from a question from Bill the Duck of 88 Puddle lane.
So what computer are you going to run?

My feathered son, take a seat and I shall tell you a story:

Software: Freeems
Hardware: Puma Spin 1

Lots of hard work by lots of people all over the globe has resulted in (finally) some hardware to run some Freeems code, this is the first spin so there are a few modifications needed but all in all a bloke here in NZ has put together a guide and a group buy for the parts so I jumped in feet first like an idiot. But they need feedback from newbies too I guess.

USB mod

Ugly jumpers, but I'll insulate it later and it'll be fine, form before function for now

more map/aap

RPM circuit start... hard to appreciate how F@(#&NG small this stuff is... turns out I have very steady hands and good eyes! lol.

So excuse some of the soldering, it's better than it looks and much better now as I get used to it and added a few degrees to the iron! Oh and I must remember: FLUX is your FRIEND! Damn it flows and flows and flows when you get the flux right
Missing a few resistors atm so giving up for the day, pick it back up tomorrow and hopefully be finished this part by end of the week for some bench testing.
Though work is really getting in the way, I've been trying very hard to land myself with a great supply of work without stepping on too many toes, making the most of a bad situation can be like that I suppose, but damn... I'm SO TIRED!!!!!!!
Till next time
