Thanks for the comments.
I was going to say during my last "update" that I was expecting the brake pads not to fit as the people I got them off NEVER get anything right... but I figure, why jinx it... but true to form I have another pointless trip to make.

On the upside, I got my lock nut key back and a friend of mine does suspension so got me some nolathane shackle bushes for rubber prices. I actually thought I was going to pick up rubber bushes! Pleased with that at least

Now if the missus would ANSWER HER PHONE I could continue! Hahaha.

It's a little different, this is a Mazda Fe3 (with a ford badge... FE-DOHC.. but i'll call it a fe3 too) which is different from the Kia FE3.
I was actually keen on a Kia FE3 because it's facing the RIGHT way!
But main differences are: cam specs, different manifolds, different oil cooler (pfft), different cam sensor/spark set up.
The kia SHOULD make an easier swap.
Silent Dawn is the master of the FE3 swap from what I can gather and he's ON HERE TOO Hurrah!
Oh I'll be running a stand alone, build alone, cry in the dark alone when it goes wrong, computer from the twisted mind of Mr Fred Cooke.
As I am clever but oh so silly I decided i could also make one as he is a friend of mine I'll give him some baseline idiot (me) input on my build/run/break experience

My main problems
intake (now sorted)
computer (oh dear god WHY)
sensors (want a slim CAS but still don't think it'll fit so may go back to original idea of a trigger wheel)

But you'll get to learn from my many and varied mistakes and I'm dreadful for helping people... aka... i do that instead of doing my own stuff so ask away

Urgh... power steering pump needs tlc/replacement... wait until new engine? yes... that sounds like a plan... add it to the list.
Found some old crash damage while under there, nothing to worry about but the dreaded rust is doing it's thing... sigh.
This list is far too long!

Funny you should say that, I was thinking I should post up his links on bscene, not sure if he's made the leap across from MT.
His truck is fantastic and I think "first to finish" would be the only way I could compete with that!
We just had the "4 and rotary nats show and shine" here in NZ, he put in an appearance but I missed it as I was at the beach instead... which is where I believe my keys still are!!!!!!!
NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
Thankfully I have my Triumph keys and can make the trip back to check it out.
Took the missus's ute and put my keys in the "beach bag"... I think it may be more beach than bag
