Need some shiny or wrapped headers to open up that exhaust. Give any thought of what you want the exhaust to sound like?

Well the plan is just stock exhaust manifolds, 2 inch dual exhaust into some plain Jane mufflers. Will probably have a little bit of a rumble but for the most part sound mild; won't attract much attention.

That engine bay is looking awesome!
Did moving the engine forward 1" inch solve the problems you had with fitting the AOD filler tube or did you figure out a different solution for that?
Also, any hammering on the tunnel to make auto tranny fit?

Moving the engine forward 1 inch left JUST ENOUGH room to fit the tranny in the tunnel without beating anything, but if I could lower it an inch I don't think I would have needed to move it forward. Too bad no one makes that drop-crossmember anymore, would have been very handy. I wasn't too keen on trying to cut & re-weld this one. Now regarding beating transmission tunnel, I will say that when I went to connect the TV cable (sometimes called the kick-down cable, but on an AOD the correct name is Throttle Valve cable), I found that the arm could not swing the way it should because of the floor pan/trans tunnel area, so I did need to clearance that area with a hammer.

I also found that by using the VW Scirroco style radiator I did not have to cut the radiator support or remove the hood latch, so all that has been kept in place like stock. The question is whether or not it can keep the motor cool, I am thinking it will probably be ok but I guess I won't know for sure until the hot days of summer.

The most important thing I can tell you is, Fan Shroud!
My 350 gets warm whenever I sit too long. I have two electric fans with a combined 2800 cfm. There is no question that my radiator is large enough... it's the same one from the donor of the engine. My only issue is lack of a shroud.

I have no room for a shroud, none whatsoever. I barely have enough room to sneak a fan belt past the water pump pulley! Hopefully my 2 electric fans can keep it cool. One of them is 1400 cfm and the other is 1600 cfm. I'm using a 165 thermostat. The radiator is an aluminum dual-pass, I figured up the area of the radiator is the same square inches as the radiator in my 66 Mustang with 289 engine. But that radiator was a little too small and they upped the size the following year. I know it's gonna be iffy..

My 93 5.0 always ran hot. I used the Ultimate Customs engine mounts with an aluminum rad and 2 electric fans. No matter what on the really hot days sitting in traffic it would not be uncommon to have to turn the heat on. It never got hot enough to be critical but I always had my eye on the temp gauge.

Well I test fired it and got the truck running today. Still need to build the exhaust, but it was very nice to hear it come to life
