I emailed speedometer solutions and sent pictures, he said if I send him the existing Mazda cable he can put a Ford connector on the end for about $25. So that is a pretty sweet deal. Did your Mazda have the 2 piece speedometer cable? I don't know if they are all made this way, mine has a disconnect near the transmission with a 18 inch piece that goes between it and the transmission tailshaft.

No, mine was just the one piece that was around 6' long or so. Wow... I'm surprised there is such a price difference!

He said he put a gear on the transmission side of mine that would take into account the RX7 diff size, tire size, and gearing for the T-5 transmission so the speedometer would read accurately. It's a few mph off when I'm going 60mph. I checked with a speedo app on my iphone. But either way I am pretty satisfied.

I just googled for the different speedometer sender teeth counts and the closest I got was the 23 tooth gear, so hopefully it'll be reasonably accurate. But they're pretty easy to swap, if you wanted to see if you could find one that was more accurate.

I'm fine with what I have, but thank you though. When I'm going 60mph, the app said 57. That's close enough for me. Might save me from getting speeding tickets too, lol.

Honestly that is probably at least as accurate, if not more than, most of the cars I have ever owned. Which is something I never realized before using my GPS!

Haha ya right. I know as well as you do that having that 302 in there with some sweet exhaust is too easy to hammer down and make some noise. I know I can't resist.
