Lookin good as usual seth!! Kick ass!

i understand that, but time is money and seth does descent enough work to be charging a couple bucks for labor. cutting a fucked notch apart is not a great idea but hey, if it was me i would take some of my profit, but a few feet of 2x3 and start fresh, the reason is obvious.

That would be wasting time and money though... There is barely any penentration on the original weld.. It would probably be able to be ground down with one wheel.. Shit you could probably knock it loose with a hammer.. I think the cheapest and more cost effective way is how Seth is doing it.. i would do it the same way if a customer didnt want to pay for a new notch or some 2x3

i see what your saying...if the dude, is worried about the extra cost of a few feet of 2x3 he has no business having his truck bagged. plus 2x3 just looks nicer but im not doing it, nor is it my truck so which ever you feel is best.

I see what no1lowr is saying but, seth also has a good point its not about how his work is going to look ,i bet it will look great after its done.Labor is free. His labor is def worth the money but dont dip into the profits if the customer dont wanna pay out. Its only flash rust and half ass welds. The medium is still usable.
Its not like someone will look at it and say that seth puts out bad work just look at the lil details he did on his own.
And just look at Sparky at this state its a mess anything is better than how it is now!

I cut one side of the notch last night. About 5 minutes with a hardstone and the welds are gone. In total it will take me roughly 20-30 minutes to grind out all the welds. In order to go get 10 feet of 2x3 it will cost me roughly $25 in gas to make the 25 mile drive to the steel supply house, then another hour or two to cut it and weld it in. Also a good hour cutting out the notch thats already there. It seems like a waste of time to me, and I'm going to save the notch thats there.

And I like the look of the 8 piece notches better than the 2x3. I think the 2x3 looks out of place on a factory frame.
