not that it matters now, but for informational purposes, you dont need any special tools other than a press, dial indicator and perhaps a brass hammer to take out the pinion and carriers. if you dont replace the pinion bearings, you do not have to reset, just make sure the backlash is the same as before and you're good. but if thats what he wants, its kinda like the star, he's payin', so i dont blame ya for doin what he wants.
