Don't expect a lowered truck to ride like a Cadillac. If you want the ride of a Cadillac then you need not waste your time trying to get it low. I've yet to ride in a lowered truck that rides smooth. If you're planning on bagging your truck then I wouldn't waste my time/money on the drop control arms because they're not made to be used with bags.

my truck is lowered by removing the middle leaf a 4in block & 3in notch in the rear and the t bars cranked down in the front with the bump stops removed and it rides ok. Like chopped-n-dropped said, dont expect it to ride like a caddy.

Here how mine sits.
lowered 7 in the front and 6 in the rear.

haha, yea..... im used to a firm ride on all my 4x4's but the front of my 2wd feels like mush as it is..... could be the shocks though. front just kinda sails over stuff while the rear feels like a 1 ton truck ride.

the more i think about it the more i argue going bagged. i figure if i can just get it to ride the way i want and lower it just the right amount i figure ill be happy........ dunno. ill play with it till i get it right.

twisted- thats a nice clean simple ride man, thats what i want mine to basically look like.

hey guys, im new to the board, and i own an 88 basically stock pickup. looking to lower it a little bit, and since you guys are talking about torsion bars, i figured i would ask a few questions. first off, i was looking to lower it about 2.5 inches in the front with the bars, is this a safe drop that wont give me "terrible" ride quality. Also, ive never heard of this ball joint flip that you guys are talking about, can you shed some light on that for me. any help is apreciated, thanks

hey dude cranking the bars firms up the ride it doesn't soften it..

oh....really? kinda makes sense...oh btw, holy crap that was fast, on other 2wd forums it takes days for me to get an answer, not half an hour. how low can you go without hitting the bumpstops? but still being able to turn

ball joint flip is pretty easy and will get you about 3/4" of drop.... pretty much detch your upper and lower ball joints and place them on the top of the a arms instead of underneath.

i know cranking the torsions will stiffen the ride, but everyone's suggesting i loosen them to drop my truck more wich i feel it already rides soft as it is...
