I would say that was a truck with a car body too.

had a breakthrough last night!!!

It isnt the axle binding at all, its the ball joints. the lower ball joint binds really quick. I pulled that apart and jacked up the lower control arm and it went clear the hell up there, the axle will go up far too. I will have to notch the hell out of the support but it will go up far. I just have to change the lower ball joint angle, i'm sure the top too. Just...I say it like its no big deal.... New lower control arms will have to be made out of steel so I can change the joint angle.

Wow, it felt like god opened the roof last night and let a ray of light through. I was very happy that is wasnt my axle binding. yet.

I would still have to contentd to the tie rod ends, but thats not as big of a problem as the axle.

The moral of the story is....I miss my mazda....

Call it whatever you want but to do 19's on the front and keep stock metal no holes or shit sticking through, a frame is my only option. This is going to be a daily drive and I want to be able to drive and turn from only 2 or 3in off the ground. Your rear set-up has way to much camber to drive like that and you will never be able to turn when your that low with the stock set-up in the front. Im going for functionality so if it has to stray away from "true uni-drop" so be it.

No, I didnt even have the upper control arm in when I tried it. I only had the bottom one in.

I put the axle in the spindle, connected the lower ball joint. I even notched the support because I knew I would have to. I jacked up the corner and it bound before the axle got even half way through the small notch that I made. I mean there was nothing even conected to the top of the spindle. But the you could move the spindle back and forth (toward the motor and back) and the axle was sill sliding back and forth. So I thought it was binding at the joint of the axle. You know what I mean?

I'll take some pictures of the bottom ball joint because it is really bad. I took the spindle off and jacked up just the lower control arm, and it went really far up there.

After it reached its peak I tried to slide the ball joint back in but it was far from going back in. I just kinda rested the spindle on top and put the wheel on it, just to see. It made it so I couldnt even put the fender on because the wheel was so high. I know that it wont end up like that because I don't have anything connected, upper and lower control arm, and axle, tie rod. But you get the point.

Oh and with the spindle off I can pick the axle up and it will go a lot higher. I bet I could make a notch half way through the support and it would go all the way up. The car would fall apart if I did that with out some major support though, but I bet it could.

Sorry I ended up typing a whole new page.

i want to see how they mounter the body on the frame. i was wondering that cause what would you have to seal it cause your floor wouldnt be part of your body. help please

Im going to run supports across and front to back attached to the body and then beef up the areas where it will bolted to the body mounts on the frame(like a truck) then im going to sheet metal the floor. Well thats the plan as of now but it could change once I get knee deep in this shit.
