I just got mine back from the body shop so the first thing I am going to do is cut out the unibody and reinforce it in the front so I can work on getting the spindles shortened.

yeah, yeah.

I don't like the way things are going with the prelude right now. It really doesnt get all the low before the axles bind up, two or more inches. I pretty much hate it.

Soooo the motor..... what a bitch. Sure Adam did it, and his car is all cherry and shit.... But I just think it sucks. I'm trying to thinks of some different ways to go about this. Not the motor but mounting the control arms and bracing the whole front end. The front of that prelude is just so tight and small, if I move the control arm down the same distance as my shortened spindles, a 1 1/4" pipe barely even fits under where the contol arms need to mount.

I guess I should run the pipe over the control arm instead of under it. Duh, Why am I just thinking of that????

Wow Ive blabbed on for a while now. I get bored as shit at work.

Rasing the motor seems to be the only way to realy fix the binding issues. Dont get discouraged and quit just take a break and do some brain storming for a while. I am going to build a full frame because it seems to be the easiest solution to a lot of the problems people are running into but at the same time a shit load of work.

this might be stupid but why not shorten the cv axles??? how much would you need to raise the motor?

if your prelude is binding up pretty bad you may want to consider downsizing your wheels up front(unfortunately)if you don't want to raise the engine,we started on my civic last week and it looks like it's gonna take hella work to get it flat on 18's & drivable up front,we're hopin that the motor doesn't have to be raised, but that may be what we have to do

You know what, I want to build a frame for it too. I think it would solve a lot of problems too. Treat the car like a truck, mount the motor a few inches above the stock position and build a frame all the way back, Put a VW axle in the back with a four link and make a new floor for the car.

I didn't want to mention it because I cant get my shit together now. The frame deal would be a grip of work.

I cant get smaller wheels. One I cant afford them and two I like the one's I have now. They already tuck a grip with the car two inches about ground. all the way down would be bad!!

Yea that's why I took it to my buddy's bodyshop. I just got tired of working on it and looking at it everyday. Raising the motor does seem to be the only way besdies building a frame for it. That's what I'll be doing when I get it back.
