any wires you stretched happen to be signal wires?alot of stuff is run by multiplex wiring, with stuff reading resistance from the wiring,so if a wire is stretched or shortened it alters the resistance in the circuit. If the ecu is getting its proper ground and power supplies, and there are no open circuits in your data link from ecu then the ecu has to have given up the ghost.

i had the exact same problem when i done mine.truck was in theft mode but mine wouldn't turn over.thought it might have been the keys and was going to have one of the guys from the ford dealer come out and reprogram them.but i decided to go over all my connections first and found a couple that weren't plugged up.it's very east to do with all the wires you have to reloacte.so i'd say to check over all your connections and see if that works..

his problem more than likely isnt in the ECM or the wires he extended.... as said before VATS is a bitch... the VATS system usually isnt in the ECM it is in the BCM (body control module) the BCM communicates with the ECM and allows the fuel pump and igntion to your Coil packs too turn on when the BCM says its ok to do so... I would say get an electronics guru in there and start probing for ohms and voltage on the passlock output lines from the cylinder and then follow that into the BCM and see if it may possibly be the BCM not communicating with the ECM properly! And as far as not being able too connect to it with a dealer pc I would probe your voltages with a good meter at the OBDII port and make sure you have all of your vehicle grounds connected good... if ya need any more help shoot me an email at "MrCheetah at vcsupport.net"

that is also a very good point I will check some schematics i have and see if i have one for truck and see if there is an TX/DX line in there

the flux cap. will take you to the future then to the past and BACK TO THE FUTURE but you seriously need to get that 88mph or else you screw and you'll be spewing trash on the road best thing to do after that is go get a job with biff

this is a long shot but some fords have a switch that flips to shut the fuel pump down if there is a sudden impact in an accident.and about v.a.t.s and or passlock from my experience these systems will allow the vehicle to run for up to 5 seconds while the security system searches for a key or bypass module if it does not locate a signal then it shuts off....so try seaching for this so called 'switch'
hope this helps

I know my boss bought an extra ecm for his lighting incase the chip messed the motor up and his friend at the dealership told him they have to take the program off of the factory comp and swap it to the new one so i dont know if just getting a new ecm will work with out being able to read the one in the truck good luck

its always the stupid shit isnt it??

had an incident where the fuel pump on an s-10 i bagged decided it didnt want to work anymore. did 100 tests on the circuit and all we could come up with is that the pump was bad. turned out to be an insufficient ground through the factory plug. something i didnt even touch. and it read ground when we tested it. pretty fucked up huh?? i def feel your pain.
